  • A thoughtful analysis of why Rings of Power looks so disappointing without the use of the word "woke" is probably the most impressive addition to the discourse around it in 2024 💀
  • @ssiahisrael1026
You know they should’ve made the first season about the “Friendship” between Sauron and Celebrimbor then diverge into whatever they want.
  • @NatureRosa
Daniel screaming after the screams in the trailer was chef kiss
  • @zacretzer
Not you using the Not Like Us instrumental as the background music😂 Drake will never recover
  • Rings of Power trailer: makes me sigh disappointedly regarding a franchise I love so much I think about it more than the Roman Empire. HOTD trailer: gets my heart racing for a franchise I thought was dead to me
  • @crimsonraen
HAHAHAHAHA The Sauron/ Galadrial/ Daniel scream-off was SO hilarious! Oh gosh I almost died! Love it!

To me, a full trailer should set your expectations about what to expect as a viewer (revenge story, romance, war, etc.), like the blurb of a book. A teaser should just be a reveal of the show/movie, the characters/cast, and maybe a few cool shots to excite people

The shock Christopher Tolkein would've had on seeing this trailer, given his reaction to the Peter Jackson triology.

16:55 Having to wait three seasons for a series to be good is only acceptable if you can actually skip the earlier seasons and not lose out on context such as in a show where the storylines are self-contained to each episode.
  • I dont even need to see the different trailers.... look at those two wigs! XD
  • I think Tolkien quote about allegory was meant for him. He would realize many people can derive many different meanings from works of art. Once you release something it belongs to the people who read it, enjoying it or hating it. He himself just would rather get lost in the fiction then being dragged put of it with statements like "so are you writing about your time in the trenches of the great War. No.... he is writing to escape it in his mind.

The wigs of power and the house of the wig returns for a second season smack down 😂

I think the main reason the trailers dropped so close together was that the HotD trailer got leaked early Tuesday morning. Word was they were supposed to release it Wednesday, but dropped it early because of the leak. Great analysis! :D
  • A teaser is less than 1 minute and basically just gives you some kind of a little look-see but not necessarily at just one particular scene or whatever, a teaser trailer is somewhere between both a teaser and a trailer but usually less than 2 minutes, and a trailer is like 2+ minutes or longer and supposed to give you some idea of what the show's about / what you can maybe get excited about it for(and if it's a "final" trailer .. it may be a little more polished than earlier teasers or trailers were as far as what is featured in it and how or whatever).
  • The main problem for RoP is that it lacks emotional and storyline maturity that people can be inspired and awed by. The best scenes of LOTR are the ones that conjure deep emotions, like despair, honor, horror, pride, humor, etc. RoP has none of that! There's nothing to emotionally invest in, the characters aren't taken seriously. It's all surface level.
  • @Gronmin
Am I the only one that prefers videos without background music or with very minimal use of it?
  • Could it just be that HBO and Warner Brothers, whatever thier flaws, are in the business of entertainment while Amazon… isn’t.
  • @mrgermanvono35
The musoc and horror element of RoP trailer was quite good though. And showed a good sense of the world more than the first season trailer
