A reminder that people handle grief differently. There were times I didn’t cry until weeks later when it sunk in they were gone.
  • This episode taught us how grief is displayed differently. Everyone doesnt break down immediately or in front of others. I believe Florida was in shock

I will never understand why Esther Rolle didn't win an Emmy for this.

People grieve in different ways, different stages & how they want to! Never let anyone tell you how to grieve! Stop thinking screaming, falling out, & hollering is how we all should grieve!

Florida had to process her grief on her own. I saw this with my mom when my grandmother passed.

Grief hits everyone differently. I can understand the various points of view.

J.J. was more mature in this episode than the his siblings.

It’s ironic that most of the people in this episode have since passed on but John Amos is still alive today.

I really hated how Thelma was on a rampage to make Florida cry. Sad thing is people do this in real life. Telling people when they can or can’t cry. Leave people alone.
  • I don’t want anyone crying or feeling sad neither. I want folks to turn up the music, eat & drink and be merry.
  • When my grandma passed. Everyone cried except for my aunt Rita. she just stared.
