What is Balboa? Balboa is partnered swing dance that originated in California in the early 1900s. Today, Balboa has spread throughout the world, where passionate local organizers put together dance festivals featuring countless hours of social dancing, live music, competitions, and classes.

There's no way this halloween mask fooled anybody

The most amazing part of this video is that you posed as an old man who was just a beginner and these top dancers were willing to dance with you. The salsa girls would pretend not to notice you and walk past you to dance with someone else. Argentine tango dancers probably would have given you a chance.

No way that make-over fooled anyone in a room with more than one lightbulb. Unless the walking dead are popular dance partners.

I'm so glad young people find this dancing fun! My dad, a trumpet player during the big band era and mighty fine dancer, would be so happy!

This is the dance content I didn't know was missing from my life

I'm a West Coast Swing dancer and have never done Balboa in my life but that was so hilariously funny! Love it!

Non dancer here, but I love watching those of you who can!

I don’t know anything about special effects, dancing, or swing. But, the editing of this video kept me highly entertained! Thanks for the fun.

How did that mask fool anyone ?!

Olga went along beautifully, I think Alice was on full muscle memory and the brain took a moment to catch up :)
  • My girlie told me all about this and showed me all the players in a video adter that weekend. I love how your community is so accepting and fun, even to old ladies who walk with crutches. Keep up the joy!

I will tell you, if I were dancing with my very advanced level dance partner, I would know it was them in mere seconds. The feel is always the same, and despite their experience, they still have favorite moves and combos.

It’s fun to look back on the amazing transformation from when Blake started dancing (I’m old enough to remember noting him as a newcomer) to the level of mastery that he is at now. There is no doubt he is world class, both in skill and as an ambassador of this joy we call dance.

Did a bit of Balboa about 20 years ago, mostly learned from VHS tapes, it's really nice to see how the scene has grown since then.

I don’t even dance or know anything. Just stumbled into this video But I thoroughly enjoyed it. I like how when he switches his style, his partners Instantly keep up and switch up the intensity as well.
