This checks out, the enemies that throw these are fucking busted too. It's continuous heavy damage that doesn't stunlock you into i-frames.

My god perfumers are one of the most annoying enemies, and no one expects someone to use perfume bottles in pvp

The main reason why this deals so much damage is because it's perfume, it reminds souls players of a shower

I've played all the soulsborne games but this was my first time playing a souls game at launch. Its been so cool experiencing all of the pre-balanced / pre-patched shenanigans that I have only previously read about in some obscure post. Top that off with Elden Ring cementing itself as my favorite games of all time. It's genuinely the most fun with a video game I've ever had. I love this community.

Considering the lore, the perfumers kinda are monsters so, this checks out.

Comparing an unupgradeable consumable with Golden Vow to unupgraded weapons, of course the perfume is going to be stronger. You have to intentionally smurf to do this (the perfume is 3 areas in), and the resources required to craft the aromatic are a pain to farm anyway, so I doubt too many players are going to be inclined to do this (without a cheat script at least). There is an argument it should have its base damage lowered and its scaling increased, but patching it isn't going to have a tremendous impact.

I remember finding the enemy that used that in the destroyed village you find half the medallion in. Immediately knew that exploding perfume they use would be busted if players could use it. New low level meta incoming.

I think the whole concept of the Pefumers are sick - minus the Jar poaching - and converted my build into a perfumer build pretty quick. Its a ton of fun. I just wish Arteria leaf was a LITTLE bit easier to farm for the other aromatics...

I actually like that they buffed consumables in this latest 1.03 patch. If I wasn't so lazy to farm consumables, I'd make a Perfurmer myself. lol

It shouldnt become a huge problem as it takes effort to farm the materials for it. Its unsustainable for long term play. If somebody wants to spend 5 hours of killing plants for miranda powder to fuel 4 invasions be my guest and one shot me, better that then a moonveil lol.
