Nach ziemlich genau 555 Tagen und mehr als 4.200 Metern Fels erreicht die Tunnelvortriebsmaschine am 7. November 2011 gegen 12.00 Uhr mittags Cochem. Ein Rumoren im Berg und die nach und nach zerbröselnde Spritzbetonwand kündigen das Kommen des Tunnelbohrers an.

I wonder what kind of guidance/navigation systems they use? It seems amazing to me that, after 4.2km of boring, it comes out exactly where they had outlined on the wall.
