Hi friends, I hope you enjoy the video. You can find the full length of the videos in cards within the video as well as in the description box below the video. I would LOVE to know what have been game changers for YOU. Please share in the comments. I know we'd all love to learn them! xx

My game changer is finding a place to meet other crochet people and be able to learn new techniques. Since i taught myself to crochet from a book over 40 years ago i have been on my own till i discovered your videos. Its like a party šŸŽ‰ now!

My top game changer was finding crochet tutorials on YouTube.
  • For me my game changer is a make-up sponge on my hook. It is in the shape of an hourglass well sort of. I push the hook threw the center and it seriously gives me finger with some nerve damage a vacation so to speak. I was beginning to think I would have to give up crochet and that just wasn't an option. Happy crocheting I'm going to read others comments now. Everyone have a blessed day.

My biggest game changer was finding tutorials on YouTube in general. I taught myself from instructions that came with yarn a long time ago. I was never very happy with the details of my projects, but they were usable. From YouTube I learned to abandon the chain 3 turn and instead use a attacked single crochet most of the time. I also abandoned the chain 1 turn for single crochet. I use them occasionally when it just doesn't work the other way. Oh, and using the back bumps of the initial chain! Mostly it was learning that crochet isn't science. There are different ways to do things and as long as I'm happy with the results, it's okay! The crochet police are not going to come get me šŸ˜…

Sewing in the ends of a granny square are a pain but you made it look easy by doing it in the corner, way easier.

I have had the invisible knot fail on me more than once. I make sure that the knot is tight, but it still manages to undo itself. I want to love it, but the trust is gone. šŸ˜¢

Iā€™ve tried doing the magic knot once, but after I tied it off the knots came off. I donā€™t know what went wrong too :(

I need help I am a beginner in the crochet world so bare with me. When I start my granny square I chain 6 then make a slip stitch to connect it. After I make my first row and begin on my next row I try to pull on the tail in order to close the center opening and the yarn always knots up and the opening does not close. What am I doing wrong? Help!šŸ˜Š

The Fisherman's Knot join was my game changer. I love that it's smaller than the magic knot and easy to do.

These were great! But: can you give me one to help me size my hats? Iā€™ve made a half dozen. The only one that truly fit was one I did on a loom, and I donā€™t want to use the loom any more. At what point in making a hat can I figure out if itā€™s going to fit, and how do I determine that? One more continual thorn in my side is crocheting in the round. Once the starting chain gets to cowl length thereā€™s no way I donā€™t end up with a twisted chain. I will do almost any project as a row-by-row just to avoid that, and it doesnā€™t look the way it ought. Sorry. Just finished a cowl and I ruined it with a lousy join and now Iā€™m irritated. Thanks for listening. šŸ˜Š
  • What are you using to weave your end in to the square? It doesn't look like a regular needle.
  • If I do the color change with pulling the loop, can I then cut the yarn and it will hold? I'm doing a granny square with A LOT of color changes and I'm worried they won't hold.
  • @mom23wASD
Where did you get your yarn needles?
  • Last week I learned how to make a single strand of yarn into a triple strand without using three separate strandsā€¦ itā€™s AWESOME!
  • Help ! Weaving ends on thick, fluffy yarn like Alpaca. No matter how many times I go back and forth, up and down ...the fuzzy end where I cut always pops out and shows šŸ˜¢ Any tips? I love your videos TYFS. Hugs Kateā¤
  • The magic knot used to be my favorite knot but now I do the one where you wrap it around your thumb. I donā€™t know what itā€™s called.
  • Thank you for the video but could you please tell me where i can find the pattern for the beautiful flower square that you introduced the invisible join as i very much would like to do a lapgan with it please and thank you kindly ā¤ its at 2 minutes 18 seconds on the video thank you
  • When you switch colors and leave a loose tailā€¦. How does it not come undone? It seems like itā€™s not tied, and my brain canā€™t handle thatšŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø
