To me The word god encompasses All that is. Funny enough, I used to get irritated when people said jesus things on my videos too. He's like Buddha, nice guy =). My point is nothing is black and white. The word god doesn't have to have negativity. If you broke down the etymology of the runes that make up the word, G-O-D (Gebo/othala/dagaz) means to have a reverent relation with spirit and ancestors, which brings enlightenment.
