Young Sheldon at PaleyFest LA 2024

2024-05-15に共有
Cast and creatives of CBS's "Young Sheldon" (Chuck Lorre, Steve Holland, Steven Molaro, Iain Armitage, Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, Emily Osment) gather with moderator Melissa Peterman at PaleyFest 2024 to celebrate their show. Topics include: how the idea for a prequel to "The Big Bang Theory" first came to Lorre; why the "miracle casting" of Armitage was essential to the project moving forward; the difficulty of making changes to the narrative previously established on "Big Bang Theory"; how Lorre attracted guest stars like Reba McEntire, Craig T. Nelson, and Wallace Shawn to the show; lessons that veteran actor Potts passed on to her younger co-stars; the upcoming return of "Big Bang" veterans Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik; what each actor will take as a memento from the set; and the panelists' feelings as they prepare for the series finale.

Brenda peaked as a Moderator. She nailed it.
  • I am not able to process this. He was one of my most favourite character in life. A brilliant father who raised an exceptional child. A true hero and hardworking man. I really loved him and connected with him. He was a role model for Sheldon and so many other people around the world. I still don't have any words for this immense grief. A loss of an fictional character still gives a scar just like we lost our family member, which says a lot about how much his character meant to me and has always been. He made me laugh and he had the best reaction. The series is already ending but this gives you a grief to another level. George Cooper forever! Love you always man, Georgie Sr. 🥺🫂.

I am glad that someone asked how Ian memorized his lines! he has so much to memorize. Imagine being a 9 year old having to memorize all of that !!
  • I'm 72 and I watch young sheldon every chance I get. I love this show and all the coopers,McAllister, meemaw. All of them.
  • The finale was extraordinary, I cried my way through. We all know what a challenge it is for popular series to land well, and I have to say, with the BBT finale and now this one, these producers are amazing. The way Sheldon experiences his father’s death rang so true for many people, with how much we often want to go back to relive the last moments with loved ones more perfectly, I couldn’t believe it. I think I started crying in the first 5 minutes and kept it up throughout that first half hour. So many small moments. What a gift.

Young Sheldon is the only show we watch on network or cable tv. As my husband says almost every week “this is the sweetest show on television”. And, I cried during George’s funeral as if I was really there and someone I love had died.
  • Ian became Sheldon through the years, intelligence and quirks and all.
  • I can’t count how many times I’ve watched TBBT…..it’s been there for me in some incredibly difficult times of my life. The laughter will always be there in my very soul. Many thanks to all of you for this show…..❤️💫❤️
  • Finding Ian Armitage to perfectly play young Sheldon is as unlikely as finding David Hyde Pierce to play Niles Crane, and both gave existing characters a second life.
  • So many favorite episodes. The brisket episode is our family's favorite. I still laugh when I see it on re-runs. 'Connie, you evil .....' I also loved the episode where Sheldon put plastic around the garage and suited up in the spacemen outfit over germs. Memaw comes out there with cookies. 'Hey Moonpie.' So sweet, and funny. And then Annie Potts starts laughing. Great TV show. I didn't watch much 'Bang' back in the day, but after 'Young Sheldon' came out I went back and watched all of 'Big Bang'
  • I loved George Cooper. He took a lot of flack from everyone in the family. A good hearted character. I will miss him!❤
  • Lance was my favorite too, Melissa. Then Georgie, then Meemaw. This was one fantastic family0friendly sitcom, even though we rewatch the TBBT all the time. I can see where you wouldn't have had to watch TBBT to jump right into Young Sheldon and understand the storyline.
  • We are watching young Sheldon from MANILA PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
