Our first overnight backpacking trip in the Sierras took us to The Lakes Trail in Sequoia National Park. It wasn’t an easy hike, but the views and the FOUR, beautiful alpine lakes (Heather, Aster, Emerald, Pear Lakes) we got to see made it totally worth it.

Awesome video! thanks for showing us this amazing place. Somewhere I will definitely be backpacking into this summer! Thanks and Happy Trails! "the strenous stuff becomes memories in the future" so so true, all of my favorite hikes have been my most difficult!

Very nice video! This is one of my favorites trails. I hiked there three times but have never seen water in any of these lakes. They were all frozen whenever I got there. LOL.
  • Great video. Nice editing! My pals and I will be there this weekend.

Beautiful scenery! I have been there several times. And you guys seem like such great and genuine people. I hope to run into you on the trail. You may want to look into Dinkey Lakes, just east of Shaver Lake east of Fresno. Easy hike, rarely crowded, and scenery far more beautiful than this hike. God bless all of you!

Great video.. I did that trail 4 times including a winter trip . Try that ledge when it's under four feet of snow. It was scary , challenging and worth it.
  • Great hike. Nice video. Not done this one. Did you see any fish? We usually take our rods in the hope of a bonus meal

Planning on going in late June / sometime in July . Was it a one night trip ? Do you remember if the ground was rocky and hard for stake ?
  • Hi, what month did you go? we're planning to go in June, do you think there'll be snow? looks so fun!!
