PC Gameplay - Mario Castle Keeper (Mar10 Day Edition) by GBFan45 - Nimaginendo Games 2024

Published 2024-03-18
This is the first video I've recorded playing a fan game that wasn't made by me. This was made by GBFan45, a friend who helped me and taught me a lot about programming in Game Maker. He had a project where he made NES-style games called "NES Returns". This was one of the complete games he released. Apparently he never released demos of his games, only full games.

Before disappearing, he asked me to save some sources of his games, and among them, this one is present! It's not the exported version from the source, as I only played the version that is already released by him. And it's for this reason and the reason he passed it on to me that I'm re-releasing his fan game along with the Super Mario Wonderland prototype demo. It's in the same pack, as both have to do with Mario's day.

"But why you released it without his permission?" The fan game is already released! And even if it was a unreleased fan game, the likely reason why he gave me the sources was perhaps because he wanted me to continue programming his projects and release it. So far, none of its sources have been changed, as I am completely busy with my projects and occupations outside the internet.

This was my gameplay showing the main moments of "Mario Castle Keeper". It's a fan game inspired by the Super Mario Maker 2 maps minigame, but made in the classic NES style of the 80s.

"Where I can play?" Well.. here:

Hey there Nimaginendo Games! I've been thoroughly enjoying your game videos crafted with GameMaker Studio. I must say, I have a special affinity for the early NES-styled games, such as Mario Castle Keeper, which you've captured beautifully. There's something inherently classic about those early releases that resonates deeply with me than the late 80s NES-Styled releases, but maybe it's just me. Your fan games are a testament to your talent and dedication, and I'm committed to supporting your work and YouTube channel going forward. Keep up the fantastic work!

So unique! You think bowser could have different forms for difficulty. Like dry bowser or blue bowser from lost levels?

Popeye + Mario Bros. + Super Mario Bros. 2 + Super Mario Bros. 3 = Mario Castle Keeper
  • What if Mario and Donkey Kong switched their roles with Popeye and Bluto? You know what I mean.😉

Were you inspired from Super Mario Maker 2 baseball minigame?
