I'd love to buy a hybrid but my 1992 Corolla still has another 100000 miles to go...

Nobody does hybrids better than Toyota.

I rode in a Uber in Seattle recently that was a 2017 prius and he had over 600k miles on it. He said he has never replaced the battery and only done basic maintenance on it. Truly they are bulletproof if you just the basic maintenance on them
  • AMD, In Canada the title for this video would be - "Can You Buy a Toyota Hybrid in 2024? " 🤣😂
  • THE BRAKES! You omitted from the list of low maintenance items the fact that the brakes last longer than anything else out there! Two retired people, two cars, one enormous insurance bill. So, at 10 years and 155,000 miles, I sold th '08 Gen2 to a man we go to church with. Finally, at 220k or so, he had to buy a water pump and put brakes on it! As far as the NiMH battery goes, I had occasionally pulled open the trunk trim and inspected the fan/ducting and found nothing. No pets and VERY rarely anyone riding in the back seat by the air intake. PLUS I kept the right HVAC dash outlet aimed up and right of the passenger seat to feed cool air to that intake. History of oil changes showed an average interval of 3200 miles. Best car I've ever owned.
  • And just want to mention the gentleman from the car care nut. For a great video.he is truly a very good mechanic.who deserves our attention and gratitude for puting out there on YouTube's. This amazing videos. May the mighty Lord to bless him and his beautiful family for tremendous Job and hard work he is doing to help us getting information on the right decision to buy or purchase your next vehicle. Thanks
  • I had a 2014 Prius until January (when I bought a 2024 Prius Prime). The older Prius served me well. I had driven the it conservatively through 102,000 miles. Throughout routine maintenance and inspections, I never needed to replace brake pads for the entire 100K+ miles. Utilizing regenerative braking had been amazing. I told the new owner of my car if the pads needed to replaced tomorrow, she may never need to buy another set after that. BTW, I have been extremely pleased with my new Prius.

YOU are the man - I am not sure you have any idea how much people appreciate your channel. THANKS!

Toyota are The Pinnacle of HYBRID with More than 2 Decades of EXPERIENCE. Reliable to say the LEAST.
  • Well I just bought a brand new T. Yaris hybride in February’24 to replace my 19 year old Hyundai. I just love it. I did have to get used to an automatic versus stick gear. I need it about 5 days a week, several trips per day but no very long distances. On the highways just short bits.
  • @nailaf6832
I bought yaris hybrid in Janusry 2024 and cant be happier. I drive short distances but 3x vv drive 50 km (100 km both ways x 3). So far as of may 8, i have only filled my gasoline tank 3x. Madness... so fuel efficient
  • @darkrulier
I got a 2024 Corolla Hybrid for my 50 mile daily commute, half city and half highway driving. I am getting an average of 62 mpgs. Not the most comfortable car but it is really fuel efficient!
  • @douglaskaye1395
My 2015 Prius has 225k running like a fine watch. 5k oil changes, tire rotation, regular on time maintenance, no abusive driving, no accidents. Never had a brake job. Great car
  • Your vehicle review videos are the most detailed and thorough I have ever seen, period. Any chance you can review the Honda Odessey, Chrysler Pacifica/Grand Caravan (non hybrid) and the Kia Carnival? Your Toyota Sienna review told me everything I need to know about that vehicle, very impressive.
  • I have a 2001 tundra, it’s not hybrid but that 4.7 V8 doesn’t burn any oil even with 326k on the dash it goes to work with me everyday!
  • @MultiMacnasty
I own a 2004 Prius. That car has been the most reliable car I have ever had anything to do with. I had to replace the hybrid battery last year, which cost 2200$ with labor. In the past I have had to change an electric water pump and a cooling valve that has something to do with cooling the electric generator. In 20 years, Besides normal maintenance the car has cost me 2500$ to keep it running and it sill averages 38-42 MPG.
  • @vinhngo1894
Another factor to consider is that Toyota hybrid vehicles hold their value exceptionally well, especially in contrast to their competitors and current generation EVs.
  • Just bought a 2024 Vensa and it is awesome! We have had two Rave 4’s and loved them they were not new but awesome. We loved them and still have the 2020. I am in love with the Vensa It drives like silk.
  • @unusedTV
I have a 2013 Auris (basically a Prius) and it's doing great. I bought it in 2019 and now 5 years down the line the only big expense I had were new tires.
