I took 2 pairs to the auction and glad you got one of them, hope they will breed for you. Yes, please put a lid on that tak. Also, it was nice to meet you in person at the auction. More now that I see you got one of my wild bettas

For fish out of water, I use a credit card type item or cut apart a soda bottle for the thin plastic. The cut soda bottle plastic works good for snail eggs and etc.

You can try a pasta strainer in the glass bowl to rinse the fish and then just rotate the strainer so it doesn't touch the fish.

Those tucano tetras looking good, never heard of them

I have bred and raised betta unimaculata ‘muara wahau’ They do really well in a large planted community. I kept mine with checkerboard barbs and kuhlis. Even have the big 4” adults in with celestial pearl danios and they don’t try to eat them

When I was a store manager at a fish store, the orders from asia had the most putrid water. They would put loose carbon pellets in the bag instead of zeolite to try and combat the ammonia and smell. It literally looked and smelled like sewer water. I was actually concerned for my health when I worked there. South america? No problem. Nice clean water and good parameters. Except wild altums would come and the ph was so low it was like 4.
  • Wait, mouth brooding bettas?! 😮 how did I not hear about those until now?! ❤

Awesome haul man! All I can think about lately is killiefish. Excited to see what’s to come with all these guys and gals in the future.

That's awesome! Hemiodus gracilis is one of my favorites.

Those gold ring danios are amazing!!! I just picked up some Danio Kerri "blue danios" I got them in a little banged up so they have low spawn numbers but I expect that to turn around soon.

When they go from pitch black to bright light in an instant.... they get a little jumpy lol. I like to acclimate light as well.
