Lee.. I am a YouTube junkie and have completed hundreds of projects after having watched thousands if not tens of thousands of videos posted by numerous YouTubers but I have never, ever seen anything like what you have offered here. You are an amazingly organized soul and your willingness to share that is incredibly generous!! You deserve a standing ovation. I went looking for a simple video and walked away with the Encyclopedia Brittanica of Wind Chimes, you are a master craftsman and I truly appreciate your art. Take care Jeff

I had no idea that chimes were so complicated. I thought(incorrectly) that you could just hang tubes and call it good! This is possibly the most detailed tutorial in any subject I have ever watched.

You are the grandfather of wind chimes, this calculator is invaluable!
  • Love the simplicity old school as myself ,the tools the idea the good results-amazing !

The best instructional video I've seen on any subject. You've not only shown us how to make a wind chime, you've also shown how to make an instructional video. Five stars for editing, script, videography, clarity, comprehensiveness, attention to detail and especially, generosity. Thank you.

My brother and I made Chimes for a all of our siblings and parents (and in-laws) many Christmases ago. This year I want to make another for an amazing friend, I was searching everywhere for your video I'm so glad to have found it again. Thank you so much, I truly love hearing the beautiful chimes we have made under your direction, so do our loved ones. May your notes ring loud and clear forever. Your attention to detail on the subject matter is astounding. The Bob Ross of Wind Chimes. Thank you.
  • You are a legend!!! Every video I see on YT, you have done most of the heavy lifting.
  • I was going to refurbish (for sentimental reasons) a set of copper chimes my late father made. They sounded good but were primitive to be sure. Now, after watching your video, and appreciating all the technical engineering you contributed to it, I've decided to adapt his materials and upgrade the design following your plans and suggestions. A most fitting way to honor my Dad on this Memorial Day; he was a two-year combat vet of WWII. Bless them all!

Everything about this video instruction is excellent. Not only the presentation and the detail, but the knowledge that you pass on in your spreadsheets is a model for how to instruct. Thank you.
  • Thank you for making and publishing this. I am making steel c4 wind chimes and couldn't have started without your wonderful tutorial.
  • Love the detail. For center hung chimes, I use the wire part from paper binder clips (you get two from each clip and they come in different sizes). Tie the support string to it, squeeze together and push into the pipe. push it down and rotate until the ends pop into the two drilled holes. It's nice because if for some reason you need to re-hang the chime, the ends just push back in and you can remove and redo it.

Thanks for making the video. My dad asked for a set of Corinthian wind chimes for Christmas. I stumbled on your site when figuring out what exactly a Corinthian chime was. The fact that I can make it myself is that much better. I need to get started only have a few days left to get it together. Thanks again.

you are amazing and have blown my mind. Thank you for the in depth rabbit hole of Windchimes. I am making a few and have inspired me to do art. every day I work on it a little. thank you so much for not restricting your intelligence for us, heavy but simple subject. super happy man thanks. subbd. learned so much about something I knew nothing about. My tones sound great the chart is amazing man. so smart. appreciate you.

Thank you so much. Now I am kicking myself for giving away old copper pipe from the bathroom renovation. I just hope I have enough left out the back shed to have a go at making myself a chime, and that I can achieve something even a little close to this standard. My siblings used to call me a daddy's girl as a kid, and I have definitely turned into my father. If he were alive now and saw this type of demonstration on YouTube he would be amazed and impresed, as I am now. This quality demonstration is most inspiring!

How AWESOME of you to do this and share your info!!! I am a chime-a-holic and have always wanted to make my own GIANT chimes for a tree in my yard. I will post when I do it.
  • You are a pure soul. Thank you very much for sharing this precious knowledge! You deserve more subscribers.

Thanks Lee. A great in depth lesson. Your a excellent teacher.

Amazing! I guess I was expecting a more 'how'd ya do that?' video but found myself thoroughly intrigued by the technical aspects that you have already calculated and made easily available (bless you!) so even I can make a tuned chime set. This means there is a pleasant, profound way to utterly destroy the incessant clinkety clanking sounds of the neighbors' tacky chimes of glass (for crying out loud!), ceramics, forks n spoons = teeth-gritting shudders 24/7. Bwah ha ha ha!! Thank you!
  • I think you need to expand into demonstrating to everyone who post videos on YouTube how to do it right, amazing.
