"she thinks she'll die if she doesn't get it" - she could. You absolutely can die from alcohol withdrawals and people do every single day. The WORST thing for an alcoholic to do is completely stop drinking.

watching these always remind me why sobriety is 100% worth it

When the brother said "she thinks she'll die if she don't drink"..that's actually very true. I used to have a bad alcohol habit and it is by far the worst withdraw you can have and it can be deadly. People have died from not drinking..only thing to be done is a medical detox. Takes drugs to get off drugs most of the time

when she said “the first drink is just a relief. i have alcohol now so the rest of the day will be fine.” i felt that in my soul

I am 4 months clean from alcohol April 1st and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made in my life 🎉

It’s always so frustrating watching these and seeing how completely ignorant some family members can be regarding addiction. The mere suggestion that an alcoholic can simply try to go a day without a drink without medical supervision is ludicrous.
  • Quitting alcohol is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. 16 months sober and counting! 💗Every aspect of my life improved when I removed alcohol. This brought back memories of the miserable days where I was so consumed with the next drink. Congratulations Sarah! 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
  • The main reason I love these videos is that I can go into the comment section and see others who have managed to achieve successful recoveries! It's not just a TV show...it's a bunch of people like myself. Congrats to Sarah and congrats to all the commenters here who have recovered! Alcoholism (and any addiction for that matter) is a beast.
  • I love it when people say "Yes I'll go" I didn't have a family to care about me, but I knew when I hit rock bottom, it was time to care about myself. Been off alcohol and cocaine since 1998.
  • I'm beyond proud of her! This was me just a year ago, hadn't been sober a day since I was 12YO... I'm now 32, and my sobriety date is 3/19/22- I am so grateful for everyday, my life has purpose and meaning; where before I felt lost and empty.

I’m so fricking proud of Sarah! The way she’s literally glowing at the end is amazing. God bless

First of all, congratulations to Sarah for overcoming her addiction! She looked amazing afterwards. Am I the only one who thought it was so wrong of all the news outlets to use her picture for their stories? Why didn’t they reach out to the family and ask permission? I can’t imagine how seeing your picture unknowingly displayed for a tragedy could feel or impact someone’s life. Shame on the news, yet again, for that.

My family cut ties too...now my little sister is dead. I watched my parents die with five years after her tragic passing. TODAY IS THE BEST DAY TO GET SOBER!

I’m so proud of her. To anyone sufffering from alcoholism, or any other addiction, just know that you don’t have to get clean for anyone except YOU. Because YOU deserve better. Sure, everyone else in your life will benefit, but you will first. You have the strength. You just gotta supply the courage.
  • @rayray52577
Wow she’s so pretty! What a huge transformation after quitting alcohol. She looks like a completely different person. She literally has a sparkle in her eye post treatment. Bravo.
  • @TheWeebinar
Big props to Sarah's brother for making his statement more about how the alcohol affects Sarah and how seriously problematic it is for her abuse to continue instead of just talking about himself, his feelings, or how he wishes he had his sister back. So many times these statements are all about how sad the person delivering them is feeling because of the addiction when a truthful yet lovingly objective assessment of the addict's drastic behavioral changes and a stern warning about the path they are on would go so much further towards helping them see how bad the addiction actually is for them and how much better they are without it.
  • @AnneLien1987
After my divorce, I started numbing myself with alcohol too. It ended up in an attempt. I never touched alcohol again. It's the devil. I am so proud of Sarah!
  • Wow. Do these people realize how deadly it can be to just "stop drinking" when your body is completely dependent on it?
  • @SUEDUCE
When a mother says I have to save myself! Knowing you brought a child into this world that you love no matter what is one of the deepest statements. It’s truly sad and heartbreaking 💔
