what happened to Forever 21? (INSIDE THE FITTING ROOM)

I will never understand why companies don’t put effort into the lighting and changing situations because ✨if people don’t like the way they look in the change room they’re not going to buy the clothes✨! It doesn’t make any sense to me why they wouldn’t care about the lighting and everything in the change room!

I feel like Forever 21 has always been more a store for junior high and high school, maybe even college girls. I don’t really think it’s geared towards our more matured, women’s bodies. That’s just how I feel though, and everyone should shop wherever they want.

I used to love Forever 21 when I was younger too. I went into one yesterday and left just as quickly. It was so overwhelming.

I would have TURNED RIGHT AROUND and went home if I found out there was no AC in the fitting room. Props to you for the perseverance this video required 👏😆

I think forever 21 is a great reminder that we definitely need to unpack what we define as “overpriced” or “quality” in fashion. Like all of those clothes are underpriced when you factor in the labour that went into producing and dyeing fabric, cutting the garments, sewing them and shipping them to the store. But because they’re poor quality (low quality fabric, rushed sewing etc) you feel they’re overpriced. I also think it’s good to remember that soft doesn’t mean good quality, quality is in the construction, design and detail work, as well as nicely made fabrics.

As someone who can fit into the regular sizes at F21, even for me their sizing and fit is ALL OVER the place. I can easily try on 10 things there and only one piece fits nicely. You just never know until you try it lol. But I have found some gems there many times that I really love and have had in my closet for a long time. I really need to be in the mood to shop there tho and be prepared for most things I try to not fit properly. Thanks for making these videos, you make us all feel better about bad shopping days!

Forever 21 has forever been for tweens, not for womens bodies. Would you be willing to try Ann Taylor Loft? I know it's older than you normally do but my sister wears clothes from there (she is also midsize) and has a classic, beautiful style. Would love to know if the quality, price, etc work for the clothes and our age bodies.

F21 and H&M had me in chokehold. I was in high school 2010-2014 so I was right in the target age group at their peak popularity I feel like! Almost every piece in my wardrobe was from there. They are absolutely NOT the same. So many basic items and nothing edgy, or hipster-based like I remember that I once loved in my teen years.

Why did I love that red bubble dress on you though??? I thought it looked so cute with your cowboy boots and I liked how short it was 😭😭😭

In Canada where I live all the Forever 21 stores have closed and we can only buy them online now 😊

Carrie, thank you for being vulnerable w/ us in the outfits you weren't comfortable in. I thought the slip dress was adorable on you but as someone who also has body image issues, i get it. I miss F21 from like 10+ years ago.

Hi Carrie, I rarely comment but I really want to say that I feel you with the fitting room trauma! I am very blessed with a body I am genuinely happy about and I at times have the same experience in fitting rooms. It's like what the heck!? The lighting is horrendous, the clothing fits so bad it's a joke, my hair looking all funny, all of a sudden I see bags under my eyes, I'm sticky and sweaty, you have no idea, the things I've seen! It's their fault, not ours. Like, dude, if you want me to buy your clothes, make me feel pretty in them. It's easy. It's not us. It's them. They're stupid lol
