Citing Moore's Law in terms of AI is what makes us hobbyists feel nice but wrong. I've never seen an available technology evolve so rapidly.

I do data analysis and have zero fear. Instead, I'm super excited. 99% of the people in my org don't want to Even push a button called 'analyze'. Not even of it was that easy. They are too scared lol.

The people that just keep complaining about AI are going to have a really bad time very soon.

If you sent that pie chart to a client they would laugh at you or fire you. I'm a data analyst and I'm a fan of AI, I use it daily. But *contextually* its just not ready to 100% replace even a mediocre analyst. And until it can read our minds to address that "broken link" of communication (prompt efficiency) or companies decide to fully integrate their own systems, data and goals into it, its not going to be a full replacement. There are so many nuances that we as humans take for granted when it comes to our thought processes and decision making capabilities, there is SO much that we have to literally spell out for AI to understand each time we give it a problem to solve, especially in analytics. I think the use cases for AI are becoming more broad more rapidly which makes it more accessible and that is amazing, but I'm still not convinced it can replace the role of a human whose job is to critically think. I think we should be more focused on embracing it as a compliment to what we do and grow with it into new roles instead of getting replaced by it.

I remember when there was a job called typist... All that stuff that happened between 1990 and 2000 completely changed things. People like to compare it to that time - yeah, there will be vigorous change. But the fast pace of business and lifestyle changes of the 1990-2000 era were dramatically slowed down because nobody had computers. Companies no longer need to worry about ROI on a piece of hardware. This is going to happen soooo fast.

I got out of data analytics last year after 5 years cause I saw the direction and speed AI is advancing. Understanding data and being able to read charts are still going to be valuable skills but companies aren't going to need as many analysts in the future because 1 analyst can do the work of 5-10 with the power of AI.

This is no joke best to figure out how to use it without getting caught!

I uploaded my image and asked 4o to put in different outfits and poses and didn’t look like me at all. Curious what I’m missing as yes character consistency is priceless if I can figure out exactly how to use. Thanks Igor always.
  • I'm actually thinking that a Masters in IT/Info Systems/ Comp Sci is going to become more valuable, not less. Especially once the government steps in and overregulates all this. They will probably require a certain amount of humans be available to monitor these systems. So the bar for entry is going to be an advanced degree and certifications to get an entry level role.

Data Analysts: The improvements in GPT-4’s data analysis tools mean that more people can perform basic data analysis tasks without needing extensive training. This democratizes access to data insights and allows professionals to make data-driven decisions more efficiently. Customer Support Agents: The ability to customize AI responses with detailed context information means that customer support can be more personalized and efficient. This could lead to shorter wait times and better customer satisfaction. Social Media Managers: AI tools can now handle much of the content creation process, from generating ideas to producing consistent visuals and text. This can free up social media managers to focus on strategy and engagement.

My experience has been 4o can hardly handle a table of 5 columns and 200 rows.
