Since the release of my new line of Loganbuilt 2 speed TH400 small tire/no prep racing transmissions, I have gotten a few questions regarding the comparison of this transmission to a powerglide. In this video I take a few minutes to sit down and answer your guys questions in hopes to give you all some more insight into this transmission platform & when it becomes necessary or beneficial. If you are interested in my 2 speed 400, you can check them on my website site via the link bellow!

I don't have any transmission videos out for my builds but for over 20 years of building gm racing transmissions in the Cleveland area, I have never been able to help anyone understand all of your points since most guys already have their minds made up. Getting to work with Rossler, Abruzzi, and perfect converter along with picking local drag racing legend Al Goshling's brain has taught me all the tricks. 2nd gear start 400s have been around a long while but again most guys have always underestimated the th400 that even with simple upgrades like using an Ultra bell with 4L80e direct drum and wider bands with full manual valvebody can turn a basic 400 into well over 800hp range with a long lifespan for a street/stip vehicle. When you started with the first answer about difference between them is the overall COST! I had a good laugh since that is the same thing I always say when I get asked. GM engineers made the th400 into a true tank able to drive under land yachts and 1 ton trucks with bbc power in which a factory powerglide case would simply crack the case under such heavy loads. Will sub to channel for more good info. 👍

$7k-$8K for a built powerglide... When I swapped out the powerglide in my '68 camaro for a Muncie 4-speed in the early 90s, I couldn't give my powerglide away. Where was the internet when I needed it? ;)

Could you use a 1 speed power glide instead for lower hp applications?

Can you make a video showing how the 2 speed 400 works? What parts are used to make a 2 speed and what parts are left out.

Is a turbo 400 stronger than a max built 48re?😊
