Shelly Ann has made Jamaicans so proud ...no disappointment ...just love ...
  • Literally the saddest part of sports this year for me. She WOULD HAVE medaled. Making it 5 straight games with medals. Such a shame.
  • SAFP is unmatched in consistency and longevity as a sprinter. A once in a lifetime talent

Hard to believe that we didn't see Elaine, Shericka or Shelly-Anne even compete in the semi-finals of the 100 metres.

I still cant believe Ive had the privilege of meeting and talking to her, then she came to our table and greeted us again, what an honour, shout out from Kenya

I was STUNNED to see ShellyAnn's lane empty. It's an unfortunate end to her amazing career, but she knows her body. Shelly-Ann's legendary status remains intact for me!! I hope she heals and spends precious time with her family now❤️
  • The increase in injuries over the last two years are accumulated wear and tear and a sign age is catching up. It was a pity she had to withdraw but she has nothing to prove... the best female sprinter we have ever seen.
  • @NitaJain
Tragic outcome but she will forever remain one of the greatest of all time 🏅
  • Shelly Ann is simply the most dominant sprinter of all time. I am sad she didn't run one last Olympic finals race but nothing for her to prove She's the G.O.A.T.

We also have to be clear that Alfred ran a spectacular race and completely deserving of her gold medal
  • Congratulations Shelly-Ann I thank you for representing our country with your extraordinary gift you did not only the nation proud but the entire world in addition you always give God the glory both on and off the field you are an ambassador it was a privilege meeting you in person at Mystic Mountain your personality is amazing and you will forever be our golden girl in my eyes thank you for sharing your God given gift with us for working and perfecting your craft for knowing when to push and when not to so on behalf of the beautiful Island of Jamaica WE APPRECIATE YOU May whatever your future endeavors be blessed beyond measures One love🎉🎉🎉YOU ARE A WINNER

Congratulations Julien Alfred. I called it. Peope were sleeping on Alfred. She paid 7-1 odds. After her 200m against Thomas, she displayed great form but just came up short and didn't have the steam to finish in 1st place. It made me think she would have plenty of pace in the 100m. Alfred will medal in the 200m and will be the future double champion imo.

A lot of people think because you can sprint at 70% effort, that you should be able to sprint at 90% effort. Both are worlds different.
  • The stress and strain on your body must be enormous when competing at highest levels. Respect to the medical people who keep these guys going at that level despite injury.
  • God bless her. She's one of the greatest theirs ever been. Godspeed to her 🥉🇯🇲❤️🇺🇸🥉

This is so sad, I wanted to see her and Richardson go head to head, would have been epic
