Elvis may have been The King, but that doesn't mean he didn't have some petty rivalries, many of them stemming from his deep personal sense of competition with other famous entertainers. Some of these grudges developed while Elvis was still a young performer, being challenged by the likes of Frank Sinatra and the rest of the old guard. Other enmity developed for people like John Lennon while Elvis was in a slow decline, no longer the innovative force of nature he'd been in his youth. Whatever the case, Elvis' resentment for these men was deeply felt, though he managed to get over it in at least one case – at least on the surface. Here are the celebrities Elvis couldn't stand.

    What's your favorite Elvis song?

Elvis actually didn’t support the War, he felt the war was a mistake. However he supported his country.

I met Elvis in Toronto at the Maple Leaf Gardens. He was very cool. I was just a kid at the time and worked at the gardens . We talked for quite awhile between his shows . I was impressed he was down to earth as ever. Thanks 👍🇨🇦

Elvis was Never jealous of other performers quite the opposite he said often there was room for everyone

According to the Memphis Mafia - The only thing negatively said about any of the Beatles - Was that when they came to visit they were so in awe of Elvis that they made him uneasy with all the staring. I don't believe this guy is correct that "Elvis couldn't stand John Lennon" - Personally, I don't believe Elvis thought too much about any of them one way or another🤷‍♀️
  • My favourite Elvis song is “If I can Dream”. At the ‘68 Comeback Special, he is so emotive and earnest throughout that performance. It really stirs me up inside. He looks, and sounds, like an angel on Earth.
  • Actually Elvis praised the Beatles when discussing the music shift from the 50’s to the 70’ and other upcoming bands during the come back special in 68. Elvis was a generous heart that treated everyone with respect. He was good to everyone but himself, unfortunately. RIP king!

Elvis would love the fact that over 40 years after he passed, we are still interested in him. He thought he'd be forgotten, but who can ever forget a King..

In an interview Goulet said he only met Elvis once and that they had such a nice conversation that when they parted Elvis took off a gold ring and gifted to him.

This does,nt match up with how my uncle described Elvis at all, he was in the same barracks as Elvis in 58 and had nothing but good things to say about Elvis.

For Sinatra to complain about the morality of any other performer would be "the pot calling the kettle black."
  • If you want to hear an amazing story, look up Robert Plant talking about the time Led Zeppelin went to see Elvis and were invited back to Elvis' hotel suite. Such an amazing story. Really thought a lot of Robert Plant as a person after hearing that.

Elvis was so beautifully handsome. What a man, what a voice, loved him and always will. I love all his songs, but Jailhouse Rock is my favourite and so we’re his leather pants!! ❤️💕♥️💕❤️♥️
  • It has to be said, Elvis served his country in the military, Sinatra, and other critics did not.
  • Elvis went to Nixon to get a DEA badge for himself. Nothing more. Elvis never met Hoover.
  • Elvis was an unique celebrity in every way. Every celebrity who has died over the last 60 years was hardly cold in the ground when there emerged all kinds of horror stories of how they used their celebrity status to abuse young women and men and treat people like dirt. Elvis is now gone 45 years and not one single story of bad behavior by the 'king' has come to light. He was one decent human being who treated the people he met, whether rich or poor with dignity and respect. When someone is as gifted as Elvis was, there is always a price to pay and though he fought bravely as only a true King could, he was eventually defeated by the demons who had haunted him for so long. But what a treasure trove he left behind for us and following generations to enjoy. Was Elvis the greatest of them all?...course he was!!

Elvis got a long with everyone. He may of thought differently in private. That was his right. Not everyone is likeable. Some were down right rude to people and even fans. You could never say that about Elvis. He adored all of his fans. Always tried to make his fans like him and happy. Don't Be Cruel, Suspicious Minds and many more.
  • In a interview with Paul McCartney he was asked who was the coolest person you ever met , he said his wife and Elvis .
  • @Colstonewall
As Paul said about Lennon, "he's a swine." That about sums it up. Elvis Aron Presley is and will always be The King.
