Johner: Hey, Ripley. I heard you, like, ran into these things before? Ripley: That's right. Johner: Wow, man. So, like, what did you do? Ripley: I died.
  • The "My mommy always said there were no real monsters ..." line could have been used to establish the fact that Ripley's clone still retains memories of Ripley's life.

I adore Weaver's acting and her peculiar beauty and I can't get enough of the Ripley character.

I love everything about Ripley 8's characterization in the movie. All the little details included that says she's a hybrid. Sure there's the extra strength and agility, but then her vest that just happens to resemble the chest and shoulders of the Xenomorphs. to her swimming the way the aliens do in the underwater sequence. And then there's her attitude. Everyone else is crouched and creeping warilly, and she's just striding through confidantly. Just an entirely "I'm so done with this" approach to a station now crawling with xenomorphs.
  • "I can get you off, maybe not this ship....." best line in the entire movie lol

I enjoyed Resurrection! I remember coming out of the theater thinking it was like a comic book story. Found out later about Joss Wheadon's input and it all made sense.

Currently watching the original four movies with my son. He’s 11 and is enthralled by the movies. Finally, a sci-fi horror movie buddy.
  • One fun fact that you missed is that Sigourney Weaver actually made that reverse basketball shot for real. The look of shock on Ron Pearlman's face was 100% real and they couldn't hold the shot longer because he basically went from shock to "man, that was awesome". I love the Alien franchise and originally, I thought this was a weird and quirky Alien movie. It wasn't my favorite. Over time it has grown on me and, as with most of the Alien movies, I have a preference toward the Director's Cut or extended cut in this instance.

All four movies are distinct in tone and style. 'Alien' is a tense monster/haunted house movie set in space, and is a masterpiece of science fiction horror. 'Aliens' is more of an big budget action movie, but it just didn't feel as claustrophobic to me as 'Alien' did. 'Alien 3' definitely had it's own vibe, feeling more like a character study, especially when viewing the extended cut. It is dark and violent, but I don't think that it gets the credit it deserves. 'Alien Resurrection' is just a flat out popcorn horror movie, and there is nothing wrong with that. The action is taught, the characters are great, if not a little over the top, and it is visually appealing. The end result is four different, but worthwhile movies that you can pick from depending on your mood. Honestly, I grab 'Alien Resurrection' fairly often because it is just so damn fun!

Michael wincott was the main villain in The Crow. he played that brilliantly imo. very underrated actor

Can we all just agree to take a moment to appreciate how freaking awesome Dan Hedaya's death scene is? Seriously, it was epic!
  • @gearcheck101
The PS1 Alien Resurrection game is significant because it created the dual stick (pitch, turn on one stick, forward/back/strafe on the other), shoulder button triggers, first person controls that most console gamers are now familiar with but at the time it was often criticized for this control scheme.

Alien4 stands up on its own, its still entertaining despite its flaws.
  • @TheAtoll
Your dedication to this era of filmmaking helped inspire me to create an entire YT channel around my favorite movie universe: Waterworld (1995). Love ya Minty! ❤️

Alien 1, 2 and 3 are epic movies. Each follow up the ladder and changes its tone to be something special on its own. Alien 1 is a lone survivor story. Alien 2 is an action masterpiece and Alien 3 the aftermath of both. Here Ripley is tired of the Xenomorph race and the fight for survival and welcomes the end after losing everything.

I liked all 4 Alien movies. Everyone stood for himself and was great and displayed the art of each director. First Horror, second action, third thriller, fourth grotesque.
  • @unperson5713
There are four Alien movies I enjoy, the first four. Each installment is entirely distinctive, horror in space, action movie, art house, schlocky sci-fi. Each iteration evolves and changes, much like the xenomorph. Resurrection is a romp, my second favorite.

A guilty pleasure. Never saw the secret android twist coming

Resurrection was a movie that used to come on the USA Network when I was in middle school/a teenager and my dad was a huge fan of it so he and I would always stay up late and watch it together. Even though it's not the greatest movie or greatest movie in this franchise it still holds a pretty sentimental/nostalgic spot in my heart. Thanks for this video!

Minty is smashing these out, pure legend Edit: The clone mercy killing scene is my favourite in this film and possibly the series
