Melissa McCarthy mentioned that many members of the crew and cast shed tears after hearing Halle Bailey sang Part of Your World Gosh I love Halle Bailey so much I just know I would cry my heart out in the cinema in the future

I completely understand why she was cast as Ariel. Her voice sounds like Ariel, and not just her singing voice. I am just happy that it's not a Beauty and The Beast situation.

Halle Bailey did a phenomenal job portraying the role of Ariel so far. She’s got equally incredible vocals to cap it all off.

It’s crazy because I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t mind Sebastian’s design. It looks silly but cool and also he had a legit face which would have been 10x scarier tbh 😭😭

There are a lot of bird species that have amazing vocal ability through mimicry. There’s a bird of paradise (bowerbird) that mimics children playing nearby to keep predators away from its nest and it’s jaw dropping how spot on it is! So amazing and hard to believe they can make these sounds, but they can! So it’s not just parrots. Most birds have pretty stellar mimicry ability, and can say words. But they don’t understand language necessarily. There’s been some studies that they can learn some words meaning like a cat or dog would, but they can’t comprehend language, just are able to mimic it quite well.
  • I have a feeling that when she talks to the animals, they’re making their normal animal sounds but she can understand what they’re saying. Maybe the voices is what she’s hearing? I think it may be a mer-people thing. Maybe just fits the fantasy but i get what you’re saying lol
  • Not only is her voice phenomenal, she also has this other worldly beauty to her that fits this role so perfect!!! Couldn’t have chosen a better woman for this role…Halle is awesome
  • @brie
that held out last note on part of your world like HELLO !?!?
  • i wanna be in the same theater as tristan when watching this for the first time, he gonna be talking about all the vocal techniques😂
  • @jessie_souza
Halle's voice usually makes people cry. That's ok ❤️

i think your description of halle's voice as "light" is super accurate! she has a very ~*ingenue*~ quality, where she looks and sounds quite young and innocent in a way that (imo) is perfect for ariel. in the little bit we hear in the trailer, she really is performing with a classic "disney sound" that i feel has been missing from other disney live-action musicals. it gave me chills the first time i watched the trailer! the animated little mermaid was one of my favorites growing up, and i think casting halle as ariel was genius. unfortunately i do disagree with your suggestion to be blazed af in the theater, because i think if i had to look at this version of flounder/sebastian while high i would enter a realm of nightmares from which i would never escape 💀
  • @TheEllaKelly
So the consensus is that we all tear up when Halle hits THAT note! I can't wait to see this movie.
  • I do know a lot of people are upset about her skin color as well as brightness of the hair… here’s the thing. 🙄 ariels staple is her voice. She’s one of if not the best Disney princess singer. The whole movie is about her voice nothing else!
  • Her voice is amazing! The cgi animals are definitely weird af in comparison to the og movie. But I’m hoping it’ll maybe work like it did with Homeward Bound or Babe? Still weird, though.
  • She makes us cry or tear up or feel goosebumps, because we get the nostalgic feeling of seeing something we've all seen and also her voice is so powerful and amazing.
  • @El-00L
When she's hit the high long note of Part Of Your World. OMG, goosebumps.
  • @bbzblessed
Halle slayed in her natural voice, not autotuned ❤❤. May just won't come soon enuff. Your analysis are easy to understand/follow and very entertaining Tristan :). My family are sings, but I never understood the mechanics of it all til I started watching your videos. I fear I'm not ready. I'm female but I sing baritone bcos I slide & sing my brother's notes 🤣.
