To us the world seems old, but with continents shoulder blocking each other in rambunctious high spirits, causing mountain ranges to appear like ripples in a pond and with volcanic islands rising and falling like pistons, the Earth is obviously still in the prime of its life. It's just all happening too slow for mayflies like us to notice.
