TOMY Prestige Enterprise TOS unboxing assembly and review

Tomy may not have hit a grand slam home run, but they still hit it out of the park! That is a beauty!

I can only imagine what my Dad would have thought of this model ! In our house... everything STOPPED at noon Saturday for Star Trek and Dad and I and my little brother, when he was old enough, would sit mesmerized at the adventures of the crew of the USS Enterprise... EVERY week for years and years. So would Dad approve ? He'd be amazed !... but it would probably be "extravagant" and "indulgent"... and he'd go out and pick some potatoes and carrots and beans for supper out of his garden... ...but ... later on... I know he'd watch this again over and over and dream about having the space for a den with this against a wall... along with the AMT USS Enterprise, Romulan Warbird and Klingon Cruiser, and Phaser, Communicator and Tricorder he bought and made for me to play with as a kid... ... yeah... I could see that...

I got mine on Friday. I don't have the time and space to build and paint models. This is 100% worth it: I live outside of DC and see the 11 footer every few months, this is so bang-on to that.

"Man.. this thing... is kinda gorgeous..." ... YES SIR IT IS ! I'm more of a refit USS Enterprise fan, but it's impossible not to admire the loving detail Tomy put into this model ! Would I have gotten one if I had the means ?.... GAAAA !... maybe !... If they weren't sold out already as of the upload of your video to YouTube. I mean this is a special piece of work !

The ship for the big part is awesome, but they should have kept the design like the show instead of the saucer separation version, especially the separation lines you see. I know it's in the original design but they should have stayed true to the series.

Lol well... my phaser cannon tip is busted 😂 ironically not because I put it down but because I was shifting it around while the saucer was in that cup stand. You are right too that the video doesn't do it justice. There's a sense of awe when you see it in person and can walk around it and see it light up from different angles.

You know…. If you look at anything with a microscope you’re going to find flaws. Imo, this was worth every penny! 🇺🇸👍🙋‍♂️🖖🏻

If Tomy would offer other registries, I'd get one!! I'd want the "prototype" USS Constitution NCC-1700!!!

I think that's a fair price in spite of the problems. I would probably have someone make a strong custom plexiglas stand for it so that I wouldn't ever have to worry about it toppling over.

This is easily the most detailed and accurate model of the original U.S.S. Enterprise ever created. The detail of the bridge and hangar bay is stunning, and it’s a wonder to behold when the ship is lit up. It’ll definitely increase in value over time as I doubt another Enterprise model this detailed will ever be made.

The reasoning for the stand on the left may be because we always saw it from left to right on the tv screen which would be the other side. I am thinking possible designing an additional stand and print one on my 3D printer.

Seeing your analysis concerning the plug holes and the seams has given me hope that they can be tidied somewhat. Very cool, congratulations. Leave it like it is, the screw hole covers I mean. It’s beautiful just like it is. Perfection and art never go together. Enjoy it brother. I like it without the saucer support though, do you think it’s safe to display it without it.

As I watch your "wobble" test, I wonder if deigning a wider cradle would help? Sorry for so many comments but I am watching and coming up with these questions/thoughts.
