The first U.S. Open in the Pacific Northwest featured a thrilling climax. Fresh off his Masters victory, Jordan Spieth was looking for his second straight major title to start 2015. But Rory McIlroy made a Sunday charge and South African Branden Grace put up a strong fight. But in the end, it came down to Dustin Johnson on 72nd hole.

    That missed put from DJ to force the playoff is a classic example of creeping pressure on a superstar. He would have made that 99 out of a hundred times.

    That tournament was criticised but still one of my favorite course in the world.
  • my dad had messed up his knee a few weeks before this event so i was over helping him out. he is not a golf fan. however the two of us watched nearly every second of coverage for this us open as we live in the seattle area. was a great spring and early summer with him. sucks how we got there but between this, the NBA playoffs, and the NHL playoffs, it was awesome

    was fun to relive this one......was one of my favorite opens, and certainly I really liked the course because it was so different. Sort of a strange american version of a links course.
