The Rumbling was a created by the King of The Walls, as a deterrent for the foreseeable destruction of the Eldian race. King Fritz however, did not expect for The Rumbling to ever be activated and created to vow to renounce war. With the vow in tact, the power of the Founding Titan could not be utilized to its full destructive potential. Until our current story with Eren Yeager..

This sequence starts with The Rumbling arriving to the shores of Marley, then burning down Liberio showing the infamous scene with Halil and Ramzi, Odiha with the death of Hange Zoe and finally stopping in Fort Salta where The Battle of Heaven and Earth will begin. During the battle the rumbling reaches different areas of the globe flattening its people, landscapes and animals. By the time the smoke clears on the final battle field Eren kills 80% of humanity..

It's very poetic that the series starts on the premise of humanity being almost eradicated by the Titans, which turns out to be a lie, only for Eren to turn it back into the truth.

The simplicity of the rumbling is what makes it so terrifying to me. The wall Titans don’t chase or try to eat anyone or even change their expression. They just walk and they’re hot. The fact that they can still be killed is enough to give you a little bit of hope something can be done to stop them, but it’s like what Bane tells Batman, there can be no true despair without hope. Top that off with the fact that they’re being lead by a human-skeleton-centipede thing who is the size of an entire mountain range and it really becomes the worst of the worst nightmare. I can’t think of anything in any book or movie like it. It’s so original and iconic.

One would have thought "Leave the small, insignificant island alone, or the world will be destroyed" was a simple enough instruction.

Remember when Eren said "I am going to kill every last one of them" and we all though he meant titans.

The rumbling scenes from the final 2 episodes are probably the most terrifying and well executed apocalypse scenarios ive seen on screen
  • @hiddensareko
the scene when they kept passing the baby around as they were being pushed to the edge of the cliff was definitely an eye opener on the topic of war

The barren land struck me more than most of the death scenes...Eren really destroyed the world. Entire ecosystems of fish, birds, land animals, fuana, potentially the atmosphere of the planet.

Fun Fact the baby that is crying is Erens voice actors baby

I’ve never felt this horrified of an apocalyptic experience in an anime since Made In Heaven. Isayama truly knows how to not hold back.

The colossal titans being able to swim that fast is terrifying. Marley warships should've been closer to the shore so they had more time to unload every last shell when the Colossals would be forced to stop to stand but I assume even they're surprised by the speed they swim at. It's worse than a Nuke, at least if you get hit with one you're dead instantly within the blast zone. This is like watching a nuclear bomb walking to you and there's nothing you can do against it but run until it eventually catches up and either slowly roasts you alive or you get crushed by debris/giants.

The Rumbling is one of the most unique and coolest form of Apocalypse I've ever seen.

When the first colossal titan said "It's rumblin' time", i really felt that moment
  • The Rumbling left me feeling genuinely uneasy. One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to watch. However some of the absolute best media I’ve seen in years.

Even if you don't get stepped on, you still die because of the incredible heat the Wall Titans give off. You wouldn't even be safe in under ground shelters, as the entrances would be destroyed, trapping you, and with no-one on the surface to come and dig you out, you basically entombed yourself.
  • @gregstacy4498
The image of thousands of titans trampling the entire world and nobody can escape it. Might be the most horrifying thing I've ever seen in an anime
  • @Magikalic
imagine being the tribespeople at 20:53, who likely had no idea about Titans or Eldians and just seeing *that*.
  • @hessiankyojin
A full episode of Titans just walking. This show is amazing.

I was feeling the terror, pain and despair with the Protagonists as the episodes went on. What a masterpiece, what an anime, what a studio. So sad it ended, even if it had to
