Ann Rule's book, Green River, Running Red, is an excellent account. She knew the detectives working this case.

I've seen this case covered, but not like this. I appreciate that this focused on the people who worked so hard to solve the case and not just the life of the killer.

I graduated high school in 1981 in the Seattle area. The Green River Killer as we called him terrified everyone. People were scared to go out. We didn't trust anyone. We even accused our close friends of being the murderer. A common phrase back then was " how do I know your not the green river killer?" This went on for years, decades. The 1980s and 90s were very scary times because of Gary Ridgeway. It was because murders kept happening and nobody was ever caught...until after the year 2000. It was tough for us young people back then because we all knew a serial killer was on the loose. He terrified and terrorized many more people than just the ones he killed.

Reichert just never gave up … What a legend! 💪🏼
  • How can you not love and admire someone like Sheriff Reichert?! That man has brass balls and a heart of gold. This case broke so many families. There will never be complete justice for those women, but at least the world is a little safer. Thank you to the team who helped lock up Gary Ridgeway. Stop violence against women!!

This is my favorite Cold Case episode ever but very different from the original. No music and no Bill Curtis.🚮

Bittersweet would be a good description of what the Sheriff felt in the end.

Why does everyone think its mannequins it's always a body not a mannequin
  • Wow the Green River Killer has an uncanny resemblance to Ted Bundy..
  • @DERRTYCHYBO
Why do the people that find the bodies always think they're mannequins? How many mannequins have you ever seen just thrown in the woods.
