Bavarian Dialect vs. Standard German

Ich habe vor 2 Monaten B1 beendet, aber nach ich dieses Video sehe, finde ich das, dass das Sagen "Leben ist zu kurz, um Deutsch zu lernen", total korrekt ist 😂😂

Here I am... after years of study, finally getting to the point where I can speak and understand german. And then I find these.

I am an Indian guy who learnt German A2, and I was living in Bavaria. I moved to NRW and the first day when I entered my class I said "Servus" and the professor was so confused.

What a delight to hear Bairisch. I'm from Munich but already in USA for decades. Always speak Bairisch with my family and friends in München. Sehr vielen Dank.

Funfact: Blaukraut heißt in Bayern Blaukraut, weil der Boden einen anderen pH Wert hat als anders wo. Im Blaukraut ist ein Stoff, der auf den pH Wert reagiert. Ein sogenannter Universalindikator. Der zeigt farblich den ungefähren pH Wert an. Ist der pH Wert des Bodens eher sauer ist das Kraut rot. Also Rotkraut. Ist der pH Wert des Bodens eher basisch ist das Kraut blau. Also Blaukraut.

Als ich nach Deutschland vor 2,5 Jahren kam, lebte ich genau in Landshut. Hochdeutsch zu lernen und gleichzeitig den Dialekt verarbeiten zu können ist schon ein großer Aufwand, aber so lernt man die Sprache. Danke für das hilfreiche Video.

About red cabbage/blue cabbage: It depends on pH of the soil and water in the region. If ground and or water contain lime, the plant tends to grow blue or turn blue at cooking. Vice versa with acidic soils and more neutral water. Some regional recipes tend to enhance either color by adding vinegar (red) or baking sodas (blue).The coloring of the plant is called Cyanidin and is purple at pH=7. A lot of flowers do this to and people like to water some of them with baking soda water to turn them blue.

Ich fände es schon schön, wenn wir auch in den Medien allgemein mehr Dialekte finden würden. :) ...nicht nur den Bairischen, sondern alle. Ich liebe es, Dialekte zu hören. Klar, man versteht vielleicht das ein oder andere schwer oder gar nicht. Aber die regionale Vielfalt ist so faszinierend! Sie erlaubt einem ein viel größeres Sortiment an Ausdrücken und Satzstrukturen. Wenn man Fremdsprachen lernt, stößt man ja auch auf neue Wege, um zu denken und sich auszudrücken. Bei Dialekten ist das nicht anders! Schade, dass Dialekte in Deutschland immer so klischee-behaftet sind.

I am Dutch, but after living in Osttirol - Austria for eleven years I can understand the Bavarian dialect with no issues.

Is it just me, or does Bavarian German (in places), sound more like English than Standard German (in places)? I truly like how they [Bavarians] have simplified ein to a! Way to go Bavarians! ;-)

I havent been watching Easy german for a few months. I noticed that i missed the crazy laugh of Cari😆 . Have always fun Cari.

I love this "ne?"!!! 😍 We have the exact same thing in Portuguese! "né?" which is a contraction of "não é?", and "não é" is supposed to be "não é isso?" that means "isn't it right?". 😊

Mein Lieblingsfluch in bairisch ist "Gschaftlhuaba". "Geschaftln" ("geschäfteln") heißt, ständig am rumwerkeln sein. Ein "Gschaftlhuaba" ist ein Wichtigtuer. Jemand der ständig nach Beschäftigung sucht, auch in den Angelegenheiten anderer (oder wo er keine Ahnung hat), und sich dabei selber immer besonders wichtig nimmt.

When I lived in Switzerland for a year and learned about the history of German, one of the most fascinating things to learn, was about the great vowel shifts and suffix changes in the Middle Ages. It's like a Rosetta stone between the dialects. Also, I'm sure some of the difference goes back even to the times of the Germanic tribes like the Alemanni.

huh, these are actually different words. sounds like a whole other language. with English, you can at least expect Scottish and Irish versions to use mostly the same words. but with the Bayern dialect you gotta learn all the new words too, very interesting video :D
