This is literally the best song of ALL TIME. I don’t care what anyone says. I LOVED GETTING THIS NOTIFICATION.
  • @Greensubject1
i love that he chose to speak it instead of sing it. i feel like it reveals the true poetry of the song even more
  • I was never the same after hearing "There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin". Gotta be one of the most influential songs to me.
  • i’m 21 years old, and to my understanding he wrote this at 23. i think i have some wits about me, but absolutely nothing that would compare to what this song is. seriously some of the best lyrics of the last decade.
  • @xxxihabxxx1
he's the only one who is allowed to not sing the lyrics in his breakdown
  • @DesSez
He is and will always be a POET, first. What a joy that he also happens to sing beautifully. You dont have to look far to see all the passion he puts into his work. ❤ Was not expecting to cry at the end 😭
  • as an Iranian woman, it means a lot to me that he mentioned last year's protests and that he supported us through his platform back then. and even though we are still struggling and fighting for freedom(not just for the right not to wear hijab but for many other basic human rights) this kind of support even if it doesn't do much for us its still very heartwarming.thank you Andrew.

This song is very old and beautiful. I’m surprised it took this long for Genius to finally give him the support he deserved. Either way, I’m very happy for him.

I hope he does more of this for his songs, I love how he poetically recites

I want more hozier lyrics to be explained by him, this gives me everything
  • @starheartskull15
him bringing up the outbreak of this song cuz of the iranian protests made me tear up 🥺 he’s always bringing awareness to ALL world occurrences

Y’all are asleep on this man’s lyrics every song and I mean every damn song is a masterpiece melodically and lyrically. Underrated like no other but kinda glad only a few truly appreciate and dissect this guys music .
  • @sapphics4hozier
im so glad to see he’s done one of these!! it’s such a heartbreaking yet beautiful song <3
  • @panispace
i already liked Hozier but now i LOVE him. I really appreciate him talking about the iranian protests and brining awareness to this as an iranian.

THE man of the hour.. the man of many sacred poetic words. a song that wont ever die.. when genius has you doing a lyric breakdown for a song that graced the world about 10 years ago .. thats how you know you have a classic.

We waited 10 years for the best Genius Interview to be published. The fact that this song is still and will forever be one of THE BEST SONGS objectively is insane. Even if the sound is not to someone's liking, I know damn well the message behind it hits everyone in the same spot.

“Take Me to Church” is such a passionate anthem for all of us who have felt deep grievances with religious organizations that demonize our humanity. It’s just so perfectly written. ❤
  • @Mashkaaam
This man is so poetic I could listen to him talk forever.
  • @MelissaNgai
Hozier acknowledging Sarina and the different kinds of courage was very respectful and humble tbh

I’ve loved this song since I first heard it on the radio… I was 9 so I DEFINITELY didn’t get the meaning but I loved the drama of it. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years
