Song Lyrics:
"It's the Guardsman’s life for us
It's the Guardsman’s life for us
'Stead of Rations
We get Got
'Stead of Armor
We get Shot
It's the Guardsman’s life
Don't if feel like the Squad is always dying?
Don't it seem like the Armor never fits?
Every day, there’s another execution
And Space Marines take all the credit!
No one's there when the enemy starts blasting
No one cares if you Live or if you Die
Grim-Dark life
No-Peace life
No-Respite life
Only-War life
Emperor we never see
Emperor, what's that?
Who's he?
Victory or Defeat
For the grinder, You’re just Meat
It's the Guardsman’s life
Fix Bayonets!
Prepare to charge!
It's the Guardsman’s life for us
It's the Guardsman’s life for us
'Stead of Rations
We get Got
'Stead of Armor
We get Shot
It's the Guardsman’s life for us
It's the Guardsman’s life for us
No one cares for you a bit
When you're a White-Shield-Kid
It's the Guardsman’s life
It's the Guardsman’s life"

This video might be exactly why I pity the imperial guard but also why they're my favorite. When your sci-fi world has a faction where they send some random dudes to fight cosmic horror with disposable equipment but somehow actually holding the line, that faction already has my heart.
-
fighting the orks is one of the best things you could be fighting in 40k.
-
Dudes who fantasize about being a guardsman seeing this and saying "nah, I'd win"
-
Every one of those scenarios Ciaphas Cain would have solved by not wanting to be there in the first place.
-
Fun fact: The plasma gun is not designed to ever explode if it ever goes critical. It will just vent all heat out right on to the wielder killing them instantly.
-
Not pictured here: those same enemies splattered by the thousand other guardsment freaking out.

1001 Ways to Die, 40K edition: - Executed for cowardice - Dragged to your doom by a Lictor - Failed to outrun a Speed Freek - Smelled the pure fragance of a Plague Marine - Didn't take care of the Genestealer problem in the Hive City sewers - Sushi'd by an Aeldari Aspect Warrior - Krumped by a Nob - Stomped by a Chaos Knight - Changed by a Lord of Change - Mayday'd by a Stormboy - Failed to notice a Tau Stealthsuit - Became a Night Lord's armor decoration - Atomized by a Necron warrior - Became one of the lucky ones in a Drukhari raid - Didn't follow proper munition handling rites - Added to Khorne's skull collection - Found out a Mawloc's maw isn't an ideal landing spot - Celebrated victory before total purge of the Enemies of the Imperium - Went for a stroll in the Mandrake neighbourhood - Skipped the Uplifting Primer's advice about touching spore mines - Found out why Lasguns are more reliable than plasma weapons - Held a grudge against the Votann - Became Ripper chow - Exterminatus'd

To be fair... 1. The guys who were killed by Drukhari got off lucky by being killed, and that quickly. 2. That Kriegsman was probably sad that he was the only one who HADN'T been killed... until he was, which probably made him happy.
-
Don't worry about that last guy, he would have been killed for knowing too much even if he got evacuated!
-
They all mock the guard until the Baneblades show up.
-
Guardsmen: Did we finally win? Universe: Well yes... but actually no. (spawns hive fleet)
-
It's been two years already? Thank the Emperor you're back!

"It ain't much but it's honest work." Fits this a little to well lol

Screw that. I’m a Guardsman supporter, these folks are us fighting the horrors of the 41st Millennium. It took us training for at least 1-2 years, we are available and more numerous than the Space Marines, we can control almost most fields with numbers, we train to hold the line longer before the offensive, and we are more human to fight as a great entity.
-
I love this, because it is made by somebody who clearly understands the guard, there was a lot of care taken to show off some of the different regiments. Fantastic work man!
-
40k noob:”wow the space marines are so cool they’re awesome heroes.” 40k veterans:”the guardsmen are the real heroes.”
-
So this is where you've been! Also shout out to including the Leagues of Votann. They don't get enough love from GW.
-
They have an entire logistics system dedicated to hauling around their massive balls

Honestly, the most unrealistic part of this video is the dark eldar bit. Unfortunately for everyone involved, the drukhari do not kill their victims anywhere near that quickly.
