Hello from Las Vegas. I miss living in So Cal years ago and listening to KROQ

Back in the late 80s I used to drive a taxi in Hollywood. One early morning around 3am I was flagged down by the doorman at the Four Seasons in West Hollywood. A few minutes later a young girl of around 20 hopped in my backseat along with a guy with massive black hair. She said to drive to the valley and on the way over the hill they both spoke to each other. She was going on and on about what a great day she had at Disneyland with him. We finally reach the house on Mulholland, the black hair guy gets out, kisses her and says goodnight. We continue on to her stop. She kept speaking of him as we drove. I said he seems like a great guy. She asked me if I knew who he was. I said no, it was pretty dark and I did not not get a good look at him. She said he was Robert Smith of The Cure and she was his GF and he took her to Disneyland the entire day for her birthday.

I will never forget listening to KROQ for hours as I drive to see the Cure in 88'. It was an amazing day seeing Gene Loves Jezebel, The Pixies and more.

Love Joy Division, Love will tear us apart. I used to hang out with friends at a cove in Griffith Park, where everyone would hang out and get high. We would play all this music on a cassette. We would laugh at all the people that were spaced out. Those were the good old days, and I never took drugs.

Damn Take's me back when I was in my 20's going to Hollywood hitting the Clubs after working in Los Angeles. Circus, Rage, Studio, and Arena. I had 2 jobs going home at 2:00 am and getting up at 4:00 am to go to my next job. I had 2 jobs at the time working 7 days a week. Now 68 and retired. Let me tell you it does not matter how much money you make; it is how much you save. Now kicking back with 2 homes and a condo and looking for a vacation home in Palm Springs. Ca. Great Memories!
