My Dad and I took an amazing Bucket List road trip in my Tesla Model Y to see the first launch of the most powerful rocket ever built. Starbase, South Padre Island TX.

This made me tear up! Thanks for sharing such a good experience, and most important, with your loved dad! Greetings and best wishes from Argentina 🥰❤

Thanks for sharing your Dad trip experience. I have to say I was left in tears as it it had me both remembering a trip and so wishing one like yours were still possible. I was an Apollo nerd in December 1972, aged 16, and my Dad and I flew from England to see the liftoff of Apollo 17. That was an incredible experience. Dad died in 2005, would have been 92 now, and many times I've imagined us talking about the SpaceX achievements and pictured us making one more Florida or Boca Chica trip to see and feel a rocket rising together. Im so glad you got to do that with your Dad, in a Tesla too, which for sure my Dad would own and love now. I drive an EV but not yet a Tesla. I intend to get one though and to come see a Falcon or Starship fly before too many years pass! Hope you get to have more such trips with your Dad too. Thanks! 👍🚀
  • Matt you did an amazing job bringing us all along for the historic event! Thank you and God bless you!
  • Thanks for sharing this special time. I am glad that you guys had a great time. It certainly was a great launch. Look forward to more SpaceX launches!
  • We were there, further down the beach at Isla Blanca Park. The joy felt by everyone that morning was so beautiful. Like your Dad, I remember saying to the friend who was with me that we had witnessed a great milestone, something that will be remembered for many years to come.

Made the drive from Dallas and went there with friends - watched from just a couple hundred feet in front of yall on the little hill behind the beach - we walked by yall, remember seeing the speaker set up! Awesome that you got to do this with your dad and shared it!
