Kong's Southeast Asian Red Junglefowls - Foundation Roosters (2011)

Published 2011-06-28
These are my two Breeders for 2011 recorded in May-June of 2011. Both males are half-brothers and are exclusive imported bloodlines from 100% Southeast Asian Red Junglefowl lines. They are both approximately 50-60% pure. For more information, visit redjunglefowl.webs.com/

This video was uploaded from a mobile iPhone. A higher quality more detailed video with recordings of the birds' eclipse molts will be provided in the next month or so.

Both birds in the video are not for sale.

@DarrenChanPurnomo Thanks Darren. I'm not sure what you mean by "wild type", but if you're asking if this bird has wild Southeast Asian red junglefowl bloodline in it, the answer is "yes" it does. This bird is anywhere from 50% to 75% pure. Both birds in the video are half-brothers as they share the same father. Both males are 1-year and 1-month old.

@thonglredjunglefowl Thanks. These birds were a culmination of hard work and time. It's no secret, but the information is kept confidential. I'm sure you can respect that. These birds are in-house and were not purchased from a source.

@blueboi69 Thanks Adam. Just a little clarification though, these are not "Laos" strain as the Laos strain pertains to highly hybridized birds imported by Nyia Doua Yang. These birds have no relation to the common Laos Strain red junglefowl/call rooster hybrids in the U.S.

@Hmongham91 I apologize, but I do not sell any young birds or eggs no matter the strain. I do not raise a lot of birds annually and prefer to keep them till they are young adults. This enables me to select the best offspring to continue to try to improve my birds. I may not have any of this line for sale this year, but plans can always change. PM me for further details.

@thonglredjunglefowl Thanks. We can only do so much with the limited quality junglefowl strains in the U.S.
  • @AIphaKong

Bro,you jungle fowl are so beautiful and nice sound....

@thonglredjunglefowl To clarify, although these are in-house birds, they are not related to any of my past Laos strain birds. I actually no longer keep Laos strain birds. In my opinion and experience, it may very well be impossible to selectively breed for a morphologically correct red junglefowl from red junglefowl hybrids. Consider for example a wolf. Domesticated dogs would not be able to be bred to completely resemble a wolf, neither behaviorally or morphologically.

@thonglredjunglefowl The stags' tails are not fully mature, so I will wait until then to post them. I do not know of any recent imports. As far as I know, importation is still closed. Absolutely, crossing Richardson red junglefowls into domesticated junglefowl/chicken lines greatly improves the "junglefowl" characteristics. This male and his brother do not have any Richardson blood in them. Although Richardson bloodlines add great morphological characteristics, the crow is often lacking.

@thonglredjunglefowl Thanks. I'm not sure if I have the best of anything, but as long as I enjoy them then I'm content.

@Hmongham91 I have been working on this line for many years, so I have enough to keep the line going with no need to mix in any other strains of red junglefowls in the U.S. With that said though, I have mixed this line with my domesticated "Laos" and "Thai" strains. I will be able to see what the end results are shortly.
  • @AIphaKong
@Hmongham91 It's complicated. I will elaborate on the differences on my site shortly.
  • @AIphaKong
@loi644 I'm not sure I understand. Can you rephrase the question?
