Suroosh Alvi of VICE travels to Bin Laden's infamous compound to see what people really think about living next to America's most vilified fugitive. Unsurprisingly, their concern lies less with the proximity of Bin Laden than the chaos that his death has sparked. Although the controversy over whether or not Pakistan was harboring Bin Laden and the "trust deficit" is the primary focus for the American media, Pakistani news is busy covering the onslaught of violence that has broken out since the May 2nd raid. The people have seen a marked increase in American drone attacks, while the Taliban continues its retaliation with a relentless wave of suicide bombings. Anti-American sentiment has never run higher and this turbulent nation clearly has bigger issues than Bin Laden's death to contend with.

" If Bin Laden lived here and Pakistan knew, then Pakistan is a rogue state" AND "If Bin Laden lived here and Pakistan didn't knee, then Pakistan is a failed state". These words are golden.

“How is possible that America’s most wanted man is living here and nobody noticed?” Because that’s why it took us 10 years to find him he was careful in not letting the civilians around him know where he was located 😒

“It looks like a normal house” despite the massive walls wrapped in barbed wire

"How is it possible that America's most wanted man is hiding here for seven years?!" A very good question to ask his hosts, the government of Pakistan.

the locals: “No way Bin Laden was in that shitty house, we never saw him” Yes that’s what hiding is.

Medical student:How was Osama hiding in Pakistan and no one noticed. What's the purpose of hiding?

I don't understand why some of those Pakistanis find it so hard to believe Osama was hiding in Pakistan. I mean where else was he suppose to hide out, in Paris? He was the most wanted man on the planet. He was clearly hiding somewhere, so why not Pakistan? His last known location was right next door in Afghanistan. He had plenty of contacts with people in Pakistan that he has known since the war against the Russians. Plus, the Pakistani intelligence agency has secretly supported extremists for years. So hiding in Pakistan would have been the logical location. Osama would not have lasted that long trying to hideout in any other country. Even most Muslims countries would have turned him over to the US to garner favor with them. If I had been Osama, I would have been hiding out in Pakistan as well. The fact that he was hiding in a compound, in a safe military town, not far from the Pakistani Military Academy was definitely not a coincidence. And to be honest, ,I seriously doubt if the Pakistani government even knew he was there. But there was definitely a small group of Osama loyalists, probably within the Pakistani intelligence agency, who were responsible for hiding Osama in Pakistan.

Pakistan's Prime Minister calls Osama bin Laden a MARTYR in the national assembly. The people in this video: "We can't believe he was here"

This guy's Urdu accent will make me laugh for years. Exactly what my URDU teacher would call, ''Terrifying Pakistanis showing off their english accent.'
  • @harshpowar1816
These are the same people who think they won all the wars against India💀
  • He was living near a military academy is itself a proof that he was living with the help of ISI and Army.
