In cooperation with ‪@SirIronbeard‬ we're creating a series of videos to explain some of the basics of Arma Reforger. This new video explores how to use the basic navigational tools given to you to orient yourself on the islands of Arland and Everon.

The footage in this video was recorded from Arma Reforger version 1.1 or earlier. Game content and features may change in later versions. For more information, please visit the Arma Reforger News: reforger.armaplatform.com/news

Wow, this brings back memories of the good old Arma 3 Community Guides with Dslyecxi. I love that you're also making something like that for Reforger!
  • The navigation part is one of my most favorite part of the game. Whoever the designer is, it was a brilliant idea to integrate such comprehensive system that truly adds spice to the game.. I truly wish that more pre-gps era games would follow the same path as arma reforger did. Not only it gives the immersion, but it was educational and entertaining too! Good job Arma developers!
  • @TheIrishAce
Well done boys! The amount of new players to Arma since Reforgers release who can't read a map is actually quite large from my experience.
  • @Phvpark
5:03 Arma devs know what people like to draw in operations
  • @Swisshost
Had so many crazy and funny "rally" moments with co driver on the map. Such a immersive game feature.
  • @TehF0cus
This is the stuff why we love Arma. Keep going boys!
  • You guys have made the best game ever, I'm a life long Xbox player, I love this game, even with the dodgy connection. 👏👏👏
  • @nickludlam
I love that the author name for the mod is 'realBaconBodyOdor'. Who knew it was such a hotly contested handle ??

Can tell you for a fact that the numbers are read like the saying goes "Coming Right Up" You read the numbers to the right then up so in this instance it'd be 057-059 cause the number 057 is to the right of the box and 059 is up on the box. Just for you Milsimers out there this is how the US military trains and teaches how to read maps and compass/cardinal directions

Who knew that me being a combat vet with navigation experience will help me in a video game. Jusy kidding, of course i knew, i play bi games since the first opf. Reforger is awesome! Great video guys! I think removing the player dot on the map was a smart idea, makes the game so much more immersive and also weed out casual players

heres my tip for the drivers, as long as you drive forward, you will reach your place.
  • @PacTheOne
Oldschool and i love it.. cries in arma 2 and 3 .. good times

Triangulation is also known as relative bearing, I remember learning this in a sailing navigation course.
  • @vermanshane
10:00 Funny, I've been using that turns method since Flashpoint, common method of vehicle navigation I guess.
  • @Smygolf1234
Great video guys, the navigation element of this game is fantastic!

9:11 - the ruler is NOT in ten meter increments. The line is ruled, but if you press middle mouse button it will resize the entire tool and thus you need to reference the measure on your map that will convert your grid squares to set meter amounts

Imma tell my wife that this game is educational
