I Fed A Raw Chicken Foot to My Fire Ant Colony

My pet fire ant colony, named the Crimson Knights, has grown so big now, I felt it was time to give them their first taste of meat: a raw chicken foot. The fire ants loved their new protein-rich meal, and watching them break it down was an incredible process. However, what was most surprising was what I discovered when I peeked into their nest after feeding them. Hope you enjoy this week's ant feeding video. Ant love forever! This video was shot in 4K Ultra HD resolution. #FireAnts

Suggestion- give the ants a half cooked chicken, see if they go after the fully cooked or raw part first. I gave my ants raw chicken and they devoured it but haven’t gave them cooked

If you’re worried about the reproductive ants flying out just get like a temporary mesh to put over the top for when they do their nuptial flights. Or something like that.

Mikey: Yay, many Supermajor larvae!! Queen and male alates: Sup big papa. Mikey and everyone: Oh crap.

I always wondered what you would do if they had a nuptial flight in your ant room 😂 I felt you were tempting fate quite strongly here with all your open setups 😬

I'm 70 years old and have been amazed by ants, especially fire ants, my whole life.

I’ve followed this channel for a long time and this is my favorite ant colony. The enclosure, the history, and the size are truly amazing. Really wondering how large this colony can get!
  • @thwidded
I'm not sure how viable this is, but if a livestream could be set up maybe once a month of the ants eating something cool could be really neat! It'd be cool seeing how long it takes for your colonies to finish a meal, and the process they go through in real time !

Gods I love this channel. Still true to its roots after all these years. Ants Canada, never change my friend!

I appreciate that you give such love and attention to the miniscule. Beauty on a small scale doesn't equate to a small amount of beauty, and you certainly have given us all a glimpse of your lens which appears to radiate a true and genuine love for ants. If we can all learn to love the small things properly, perhaps we'll once again learn to love each other.

I watched this before bed & had the worst nightmares.

It’s always a good day when AntsCanada posts
  • You should get more timelapse footage of feedings. That would look super cool.

I fed MY foot to a fireant colony. Montgomery, Alabama over 50 years ago visiting pops family. About 9 years old from Bronx N.Y. riding a bike. One foot in an anthill. Notice 50 years later I still remember that like yesterday.
  • @monticore1626
11:43 amazing how the swarm changes colour from a dark camouflage pattern to a bright orange threat pattern so quickly
