We all know you tried spamming cure and health potions to save him Edit: Came back to this comment after 3 years and god damn does the nostalgia kick. This game really was a highlight of my childhood; a time when things were simpler, and it seems that I shared a similar memory with so many of y’all. I’m just hit with a somber feeling whenever I realize that such memories will be just that, a memory of a time that’ll never come back, and that some of you out there will share that somberness upon realizing it. I’m happy to have shared such a memory with y’all. I was in 5th Grade when I first played this game, and now I’m in college with the intent of becoming a full-fledged game developer by the time I graduate. Perhaps the least I can do to honor these memories is to help make something that’ll be just like it to the next generation. For a PSP spin-off title that got nowhere near the attention it deserved, this game packed a hell of an emotion punch.

To those of you wondering why he forgot Zack, he was traumatized by his death so much, he created a false persona of himself under the image of the person he admired the most in life, which was Zack, and thought that he did all the things that Zack did. Hence why he never said hi to Aerith for him. (Please correct me if I’m wrong)

Zack : "If you want to be a hero, you need to have dreams" Cloud : "Thank you, I won't forget" Zack : Dies Cloud : Proceeds to forget everything

I knew Zack would die the moment I started playing the game, and still, even knowing that, I tried desperately to find another option where he didn't die. Zack will forever be one of my favorite final fantasy characters :(

Cloud definitely got his PTSD from this.

You gotta love how in the original, he’s shot by like two regular Shinra guys, but here it’s basically the whole army and even then Zack almost wins.

We all knew it was coming but somehow Zack’s death was still one of the most poetic and painful protagonist deaths to watch. The most underrated FF character for sure

the worst thing about this is the fact Zack faded into obscurity with the death of Aerith and Cloud's persona merger. he was the hero the world will never remember

Then, 13 years later, Square Enix pulls the biggest reverse uno card.

Ff7 shaped my childhood. The fact that Crisis Core left me liking Zack noticeably more than Cloud feels like a hell of an accomplishment.

Sure Aeriths death was really sad, but this was the death that truly broke Cloud.

Needed to see this cutscene again after hearing Zack's new voice in FF7 Remake
