When I safety break the glass lift in the shopping centre near my home, it just opens its inner doors, as if it were on a floor :D

I tried this in our 16 storied building it has no basement but when I tried to open the doors it stopped, waited 30 secs, went down past the allowed max, crashed into the suspension at the bottom, went up to the 16th floor, and then resetted.

Once when I was 7 years old I tried to open the doors of the lift of our apartment while moving to the 16th floor. It locked down and I was having a mini heart attack.
