I think people totally misunderstood him. My father is Gypsy and when I heard him say that joke, I feel he was putting in people's face the fact that most people did not give a damn about them and still don't. His humour is satire to the highest degree.

My theory about Jimmy Carr is that he is tired of being a celebrity but instead of just leaving it behind he has decided that he wants to burn any chance of a return to the ground. But no matter how offensive he gets he never gets cancelled for some mysterious reason :D
