  • I feel like this means he’s off to work on the next Smash Bros game for the Switch 2. Nintendo ain’t dropping their cash cow despite how much Sakurai wants to end the series.

I haven't watched a lot of them sence when he first started. But im glad Sakurai is universally loved by the fans of his works. Like hes like the only game dev that people want him to take a break or should I say encourage him to take a break. He is a man with passion and what ive seen from his videos, he is very passionate about game development. I feel like generally if you want to be a game developer, to watch these videos on him. The mans an icon and deserves nothing but respect.
  • It's no coincidence that he is releasing his last video as we approach the reveal of the next gen Switch and it's project games. People would have been combing his videos for clues and it is hard for him not to let a few statements slip; which suggests he knows something (like his comment about how it would be nice if Icarus Uprising got re-released on more poweful hardware). He probably will be working on some things for the next gen Switch. I wish him all the best as his videos were very informative and interesting!
  • If I had to guess it will be aired in three months from now. If you go by his Smash Bros. videos you will notice him talking about things that happened a couple of months ago. Hopefully it won't be that long but that is what I think the video will be uploaded
  • Really enjoyed watching his videos. It was a lot of fun. Appreciative to all the cool stuff Sakurai does. Sad this is his last one

Will his videos, look forward to what he works on next.
  • I think it’s safe to say the Smash series is finished. Ultimate feels like the perfect conclusion anyway.

He lowkey would be working in Smash 7 while all the episodes keep running until the end, and then watch how in the reveal event of the new hardware, Smash 7 will be revealed. Hopefully, let's pray it doesn't suffer the same fate as Brawl, which was revealed in 2005, planned to be released in November-December 2006 along the Wii launch, but got delayed until December 2007, then got delayed to January 2008 and then finally saw its release in March 2008.

I still need to catch up on his videos. They’re really good. Sad to see his video series coming to an end, but I do wish Sakurai the very best for whatever he does next.
  • I feel he made the right decision. I do not know what next game would be.
  • I say customize the SSBU menu music and all stages with other music series, returning the missing stages, new items on the Stage Builder, Boss Rush and more 🤔
  • @Nanobit84
Oh. Time for him to cook something now

I really hope that PBS reaches out to Sakurai to air his series as Interstitial Programs that appear between major shows on the network, we have been in need of something to present alongside its other material that is currently in this section (The Curiosity Desk with Edgar B. Herwick III, snippets of Open Studio with Jared Bowen, Stories from the Stage ~ Abridged, WGBH's Live Music Performances, and more) and this would be the perfect work to implement during the Station Breaks; we haven't had much of any major Japanese programming on PBS since WGBH used to air Today's Japan in the Early I990s and KTEH used to air Anime from at least I996 to 2003, bringing in Sakurai's programming would fill in a major gap that the network is facing in a time where especially the Boston stations have just lost about 0I3% of its News Division and it'll easily aide towards its migration to an enhanced focus on Variety.

Smash ultimate is going to be hard to surpass I’m not sure if the series would continue but I definitely think they’ll be a longer break in between titles definitely longer than smash 4 and ultimate.
