How can you simply walk away from your dog doing something like that? I feel so sad for this owner....This is horrible...
  • Reckless dog owners unleash their rabid dogs all over the city without any repercussions. Just check the Presidio at the Lake Street Park, all along the trails, or officer's concourse -which has become a dog park so we can't bring our kids. A man let his mastiff loose yesterday while alarmed walkers had to run passed him.

This is heartbreaking and a reminder not to take small dogs to dog parks unless they’re specifically for small breed dogs. Some large dogs can get very excited when they see fluffy cute little dogs and see them as prey. Owners of larger dogs should not let their dog run loose in dog parks if they don’t have voice control of their dog. I hope the owners of the aggressive dog do the right thing and come forward.

Too many vicious dog attacks in SF lately. A pit bull dog (homeless owner, from Utah) attacked a woman (Allison) in Baker Beach. 2 pit bulls (RV homeless owners) mauled a man (Pablo Rocha) in Potrero Hill. A white husky mauled a smaller dog in Cow Hollow, and later attacked a toddler in the Marina. Coincidentally, all those irresponsible dog owners are not SF locals. In June, the insurance industry posted that California has the highest rate of US dog attacks incidents (LA is #1).
  • Very sad , dog walker should have known better ! Dog parks are dangerous especially for small dogs.

I don't even take my dog to dog parks in SF, irresponsible owners are everywhere !!! I rather go to Golden Gate park where there's very large amount of space for everyone.
  • i no longer take my dog to any dog park -- after witnessing "dog walkers" unleash packs of dogs and then spend their time on cellphones instead of supervising the dogs they are responsible for. Also -- if you have a small dog be sure to use dog park areas fenced off and designated for "small dogs". you just have to be vigilant at all times - no matter where you are in any city public space. Swivel heads. condolences to papaya's family. rip sweet pup.
  • If you're a dog owner that takes your dog to the dog park and you have a small dog. Always use the small dog area. They are segregated for a reason between small and big dogs. But, of course some dog owners don't care about that or leash their dogs in public. I saw a homeless guy holding a sign in downtown SF asking for a leash and a harness yesterday for his husky mix.
  • ooh...I've had issues with a shepherd named Tulip in that vicinity. She'd attacked my dog and others in a dog park close to my home many times. wonder if it's the same shepherd as described in the video.

Very sad. The person involved better step up or face consequences. For people in Oakland, due to high homeless population, many of them have dogs unleashed roaming around certain neighborhoods. If you have a dog, be ready for bad moments.

There are far too many irresponsible dog owners who don't train their dogs in the City. I recently had my hand nipped at by a pit bull on Mission Street and the owner just laughed. Too many people are getting dogs for protection and don't care if they act aggressively toward others.

Dog parks usually have a section for small dogs and little dogs. Heart breaking 💔 RIP little one you are now a dog 👼 Angel.
