I spent 3 years of college and got into debt and this guy just single handedly made me understand a lot more in just a few videos, for free. And its interesting too!
  • @chris543ful
if anyone else had problems with adding "NMAP" just type in " apt-get install nmap" and THEN type in " apt update " thats what worked for me :) CHUCK! love the videos! keep it up!
  • @Dalai33
3 freaking full semester (12 credits each) didn’t learn as much as I did in two of your videos in a raw tonight. THANK YOU
  • @rambo008
Wow imagine every IT programming professor with the enthusiasm of this guy.
  • @zecciar9871
This man be like: " yo you got any spare milk?" Neighbour: "nah man sorry just ran out" Him: " actually you do I just entered your network and can see through your security cameras, I can show you how to secure your network if you lend me some milk"
  • I came here after making it through roughly a quarter of David Bombal's Udemy course. The way Chuck presents information through drawing and explains terms makes these free videos a million times better, more enjoyable and easier to understand than David's. The only thing that I would change is to upload more CCNA study videos!
  • @Tired_Patriot
Just found your channel and I've learned so much! Your enthusiasm is contagious! It is literally making me ENJOY this nerd orgy of info and instructions. Great videos my man!
  • @MrAlexhasker
You are a bloody legend in the way you present content. Not once have I watched one of your videos where I was left wondering what a term meant. EVERYTHING is fully explained. So easy and encouraging to learn.
  • Not only are we both IT nerds, we look a hell of a lot alike... Anyway, great content. Keep it comin'!
  • @scotta.5681
Happened upon Chuck while searching for tech vids to listen to while I'm working night shift. Spent 30+yrs in IT and owned a Network Support Company for 27+yrs. Took a break for a few years after 2 employees stole from me and I'm prepping myself to head back into the industry at 58yo. Great info provided in these videos! Love the energy of his videos and the way he makes the information fun and enjoyable. Totally impressed!
  • @BaldTheBuilder
Dude!! 9 years later... I'm so glad this video popped up for me to see where it all started, and that you decided to start creating videos back then!
  • @wtfs8st80
I've got ADHD and your enthusiasm and high energy allows me to learn and keep my focus
  • @slocarfast
You're a great teacher. I watched this with my wife who doesn't work with computers much and she was able to follow along.
  • Love the energy! I'm currently doing a Network and Administration course and i'm sure going to watch your videos on top of what the school gives me. Awesome work!
  • @robinfabian7869
Chuck i love your vids. Not just for the valuable info you give but you always put a smile on my face and cheer up my day plus your + energy recharges my batteries. Thanks
  • @danhoward2804
I wish you were one of my professors when I was going through school. I love how you break things down. Awesome content
  • @Analogcolor
You energy keeps me engaged, which is what makes you so effective. Thank you
  • @ptravel
Though I'm not a computer pro, I've been doing computers since 1967 -- I've built my own for 40 years and have been home networking since 1985. I thought I was pretty well-informed and had a well-protected system. This video reminded of a few things I over-looked. Thank you, Network Chuck! It looks like I'll have to get myself a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro. By the way, one thing you didn't mention is potential security risks via DNS. Lots of websites serve ads from known ad servers, and malware can use DNS lookups to download more malware. Pi-hole is any easy solution, particularly if you run it from a Raspberry Pi. I'm sure you know about it, but you might want to mention it in another video. This was a long post, so now I'm going to get some coffee. :)

Always love your videos. I prefer to think of Client Isolation as s "Layer 2 Firewall that you can't make any exceptions for" because that's essentially what it is. I use client isolation on the Guest network and just have 1 (layer 3) firewall exception so guests can cast to my Shield's VLAN, seems to work well after configuring the mDNS repeater
