Eyes Wide Shut - Letter Scene - Filmed at Transport Research Lab, Crowthorne, now Bucklers Park.

Published 2020-07-07
Stanley Kubrick's last film Eyes Wide Shut - Letter scene and arriving at Mansion scene filmed at the Transport Research Laboratory in Crowthorne. The TRL site has been scaled back with most of the old site making way for Bucklers Park estate and country park but this filming location still remains and can be found near the high bank curve.

  • Great vid showing this I didn’t know where it was, everyone assumes it’s the front gate at Mentmore Towers but clearly it’s not comparing it to this.
  • I thought this was a back entrance to Mentmore Towers. Berkshire expands the meaning of the credits of Eyes Wide Shut to '...and the Home Counties'. Thanks for posting this.
  • I remember this being filmed but did not know what film it was for.

Is it an optical illusion, or is the road actually a lot wider in the movie?

Hi, I've searched hi and low for the name of the actor who played the old man with the letter. Would you happen to know?

Kubrick was very particular about the design of the gates which are nearly identical to the ones at Ascot Place, Berkshire It was owned by H.J. "Jack" Heinz II. Jack Heinz and rich from the Heinz food empire. he was also a member of the Skull and Bones secret society. Stranmgley I cannot see mention of parties he was involved with that I had previously seen on the internet. Ascot Palce also has a mysterious nightmare fuel grotto in the garden. Mick Flick, Mercedes-Benz heir and grandson of Friedrich Flick (the richest man in Germany and a convicted Nazi war criminal), It is now owned by Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan, then Ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of the U.A.E. https://goo.gl/maps/wrCxAG8gFR5Cf7ix7
