Most lords send an army, Tywin only needs to send a singer and his regards.

“Any king who says I am the king is no true king” ~ Tywin Lannister

Tywin's definitely one of the best characters ever made. With a magnificent soundtrack, of course. This song reminds everyone what happened last time someone dared to tempt the fury of the Golden Lion of Casterly Rock, and immortalized the defeat of the Red Lion of Castamere. The thing with Tywin wasn't even that classical Macchiavellian mindset we're used to see with so many villains, but Charles Dance's charisma, and the fact of that Tywin as a character actually succeeded with that mindset, unlike many other Macchiavellian villains. So again. A magnificent soundtrack for a magnificent character.
  • The most powerful man in Westeros was not a King.He was Tywin Lannister.
  • I've never been a fan of Game of Thrones, but I really love Charles Dance as Tywin, and for me this is his personal theme.

Charles Dance was just about the best character on the whole show. He absolutely nailed the character and had the perfect presence for it.

This is the best rains of castamere I have ever heard, I don't like Tywin but respect him and his intelligent and strategic mind because he reminds us to never underestimate our enemies. Via this song that reminds everyone on what happend to the Tarbecks and Reynes.

you can't convince me that this guy was not the main character...

I love how Tywin commands respect, he looks like a lion, a figure of authority that craves submission from his subjects.
  • The lyrics: "And who are you, the proud lord said That I must bow so low? Only a cat of a different coat. That's all the truth I know. In a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws. Mine are long and sharp, my lord. As long and sharp as yours." "And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere. But now the rains weep o'er his hall. And not a soul to hear. And who are you, the proud lord said. That I must bow so low? Only a cat of a different coat. That's all the truth I know." "And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere. But now the rains weep o'er his hall. And not a soul to hear." "And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere. But now the rains weep o'er his hall. And not a soul to hear."

As an armenian, hearing Serj Tankian sing this somehow makes the song even better. I love this song so much. It's so healing to the soul. Absolutely beautiful. This is great work....

Been listening to this for 2 years I always come back to this masterpiece
  • This version makes me think that Tywin took no pleasure in the destruction of those houses, in fact he was haunted by them. Always hearing the endless sceams of the women and children as he flooded the halls with water until the screaming stopped. And now, he sends this song to anyone daring to stand against him so he never had to commit such an act again. Tywin did things that he found cruel, evil and sadistic, all to ensure the survival of his family, legacy and future. That, is what made him so dangerous.
  • @jamiemiller1482
It’s really ironic, Tywin cared so much for his name, his legacy… Yet he set events into motion that were partially responsible for the fall of his house
  • @MMert34
The only enemy that Tywin couldn't defeat was the one who he hated the most. Tyrion.
  • Love the slight tweaks to it. The reverb adds a lot to it to make it a truly haunting melody and a warning to anyone who messed with the Lannisters so long as Tywin lived.
