What's the 44 Club you may ask? Well it all started in the outro of this video    • HOW TO BOTTLE FLIP (ONTO HUGE BRIDGE!...   where we wondered if anyone was still watching the video at that point, and to comment 44 (Scott's fave number) if they were. Brett then said 44 Club get on board and the rest is history. The 44Club is the official How Ridiculous fan club made up of people who love our videos and watch them right to the very end. We've even got 44 Club merch now! So yeh, that's the story. Pretty random but good fun at the same time.

A big thanks to the awesome crew at the Gravity Discovery Centre in Gingin for letting us use their 45m leaning tower for our own experiments. If you wanna head out there and check it out, it's not far from Perth. Western Australia: gravitycentre.com.au/leaning-tower/

I am still trying to figure out why watching things being dropped from 45m is so satisfying to watch...

Giant dart vs a long piece of pipe? put the pipe vertical, drop the dart, the dart will go inside the pipe and split the pipe into 4 pieces (pipe will be wide enough to fit the tip of the giant dart but not the fins)
  • How'd about dropping thor's hammer on top of the dart? See if it would split the stump.
  • New idea for a series of videos: stick the dart into the ground, point facing upward, and drop stuff onto the dart

When splitting a stump or a log, the best result is achieved by turning the piece with the roots side facing upwards. Due to the structure of the wood fibres, there will be less compressive resistance when force is applied to the underside of a tree's structure. This video is a prime example of wood's ability to absorb kinetic impact by creating a compressive resistance in near equal strength to the impact energy at the local point of impact. It also explains why the dart was hard to remove with such a small embedment (even with part of the stump knocked away by the force of the impact). The stump was literally gripping the tip of the dart. If the stump had been turned over with the root end facing upwards, the dart would have sliced straight through it and into the carpet underneath. Even an object as blunt as Thor's hammer would cause the stump to split apart if the root side was upwards.
  • I can honestly say- today has been one of the worst days of my life. I took to the How Ridiculous Channel searching for something to lift my spirit. This video has always been able to make me laugh and today was no different. Thank you @howridiculous for making me laugh, even in my struggles. Thank you for being the silver lining in my terrible day...
