Rapper Boosie is at odds with fellow rapper Rod Wave for alleged copyright infringement. Boosie claims that Wave improperly sampled one of his songs and took lyrics from other rappers. Although Wave reached out in an attempt to negotiate and settle the matter, Boosie demanded $200k and 25% of the profits for his work. Despite a verbal agreement, Wave's team has apparently stalled on the issue and refused to pay. Boosie owns only a partial percentage of the disputed song but insists on his rights as an artist being respected and equivalent compensation being made. He further asserts that the funds accrued from the song are for his children's future. Boosie argues that similar issues do not arise with established artists like 50 Cent, highlighting perceived unfair treatment in the industry.

Owning your own publishing , masters, and royalties is a big deal in the music industry

  • @raygreeko
That’s the most relatable shit I’ve heard from boosie, “it’s cool when they do it, it’s a problem when I do it”
  • @ryanmadady7227
They’re running out of old songs to sample since no one creates actual music anymore. Soon they’re gonna have to start sampling the samples and sue each other 😂

Boosie need to pay finesse 2x's for using his verse on VLAD...😅😂
  • 200k and 25% of Rod’s song and you don’t own 25% of your own songs is crazy 🤣🤣
  • Boosie feels some type of Rod Wave. His touring, his records on the hit boards. He wants a cut
  • @jasonclyburn1499

200k and 25% lmao I know that song ain’t make that in no month it’s songs that’s went platinum that artist ain’t make no $200k off of rod wave signed to a major he make his money off of touring thinking he was gonna come off of 200k is crazy

Double edged sword with Boosie. He's still loved in the streets so they expect him to "be cool" with stuff like that.
  • @enzigenes
Boosie owns his publishing, now all he has to do is have his BMI or ASCAP go after his share. Rod Wave and his label will wish they gave you the $200k because now they will collect on the song forever. Sit back and play the long game. Boosie will make more than what he initially asked for. That's the power of owning your publishing.

  • @teranjames152
To all the people keep saying boosie don’t own the song. He own his publishing for the lyrics which is what rod wave stole. He def owe that man at least 25 percent of the song. He could have asked for more than half since he used his entire hook and song title

People just need to start writing and doing their own thing. It takes work and they want to be lazy and steal
