Nature and wildlife photographer Rob Read ventures out into his local woodland to photograph the iconic Snowdrop. Photographing flowers artistically is more difficult that you might think, but Rob provides a few hints and tips on his approach and shares some of the results. Wildlife photography is so much more than pointing a camera at various subjects, and experimentation is key to developing as a photographer. Enjoy the video, then go out and photograph some Snowdrops of your own before they are over for another year.

Nice video, the problem with photographing snowdrops is that they often grow in very bad light conditions. I really like your results.

lovely Rob, especially like the last two shots at the end of the video, I had a similar setting recently and got some pics I was really happy with using the same macro lens

Some beautiful results, something I've been trying myself
  • Great photos and beautiful light! I've tried macro on snowdrops, it can get uncomfortable working so low on the ground! A difficulty I had last year was getting enough depth of field for a single flower while getting the dreamy effect on its neighbours.
