  • People get hung up on papers I prefer to have an animal that meets mine and my families needs and my malinois x has turned out to be a perfect fit
  • Faut reconnaitre que celui-ci est une pure merveille-Avant de sauter du coffre de la voiture il scrute tout de suite autour de lui. Bravo a Shadow et a son maitre.
  • I once had a hand-picked Leonberger (first inspected him the day he was born- monitored him pretty much twice a week until he was old enough to play with and showed his character and the dog he was becoming-then finally brought him home at 10 weeks.) Your herder is certainly a good looking, intelligent Herder, but dunno bout the 'giant' moniker, course I never spent much time around Malinois. In any event "Blaze" was a hair over 140 lbs right at 9 1/2 months. Abnormally athletic (he liked to run with my horses) and my 5'5" then 71 year old mother used to take him on leash to her bridge club where he would lie under the card table and keep her feet warm. As sociable as he was, at night, while out back of the house keeping watch over "HIS" property (heheh) he had a warning bark like the Hound of the Baskervilles when he detected any unwelcome presence- man OR animal. Thinking back over my lifetime experience with dogs, I don't think I ever had one better.
  • Best dog mix ever. I have a female Mal X and she is 75lbs best on and off switch.
  • I love mine she really annoyed me when she was younger she has got better
  • My Mali is a cross-breed and she is larger than the average Mali, but she is a good dog, and smarter than a whip!

I had a mal at 82lbs lol.... dude could run forever through anything and swim for kilometers!!!
  • I have one. His name is Anakin and he is 9 months old. He is going in for training. He is a big boy despite his tender age.
  • 33kgs is big even for a GSD/BSD cross. Shadow has the nice straight back of a Mal and the big bat-ears. Set of the face shows up the German shepherd, esp from front view.
  • Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd Dogs .... BOTH of them are animals that have to be socialized early on and they need an owner that is the alpha in the dog/owner relationship. NEITHER of them are good for MOST families who have neither the time or ability to socialize/control/train them. These dogs not only need a lot of exercise; they need brain stimulation too.

No, that’s how new breeds get created.

My Malinois is very well behaved, gets along well with other animals including cats, horses and goats. Is fantastic with children so I don't get what you're saying about pure bred Mals.
  • @anekadiamond
My 7 month old is about 60-65 lbs he’s a huge baby

Beautiful dog, he's guuna be a big boy. My mals 34kg at 2 1/2 years. I saw one 52kg in a photograph on scales , he was lean too. I'm not to keen on it to be honest , seems like breeding practices that have wreck many breeds are coming into the malinois. I say this because you called him a herder. I don't think he could herd for any lenght of time with that kind of bulk. near enough doubling the weight can't be good for the health. Would like to here your thoughts.
