Manila, Philippines โž– It's time for a shave! As always when I visit a new country, I need to try out the barbershop experience so today we're going to do just that. I was told there was a local barber shop in the china town area, so I got a tricycle ride there, only to find out they didn't do shaves! So, we continued on foot to find one nearby, and we hit the jackpot! A luxury salon, that does every self-care service that you can imagine! Join me as it's "Time to get a shave".

I canโ€™t believe you tipped him $100 USD! That probably made his month! Thatโ€™s A LOT in the Philippines! So nice and generous of you. Also, go short with your haircut
  • Thank you Luke for being generous.. thats amazing and next level kind of generosity. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ
  • @melai7459
Wow $100 is really a big help for him for sure! You're a generous person Luke!
  • Luke, I spent my whole week off watching your videos! I am glad you're enjoying our country and being so generous. My favorite is when you ride on the top of the tricycle. Be safe always, you inspired me of your tagline "chase your dreams" keep going Man.

Filipinos are very friendly and the streets are beautiful, Manila it's a good place.
  • This is the most generous vlogger that I've ever seen. Thanks, Luke, for giving back to the people and the community who gave you the experience!

You will know the barber is legit when you see his hand movements are calm, controlled and pointy. The kind that looks like intricate when it moves or placing his fingers for his next move. And, so tidy, you will not find any mess or stain in the cloth or things scattered around his counter.

Done watching! it's literally just shaving and i still didn't get bored. Also i love the asmr sound of the razor. I was holding my neck while watching cause I was afraid that the blade will slice your neck ๐Ÿ˜‚ but Jernan did a great job! The massage after getting a haircut or after shaving is common thing that Filipino barbers do.
  • I have seen a lote of vlogs but never seen such a humble person. Your generosity makes you perfect human. Loving your content from India
  • More vlogs with Roy please!! I really like your interactions with the locals and having Roy as your translator and Guide hahaha

No beard suits you better Luke! Looking more gwapo (handsome) after the shave. Love your generosity, you definitely made his day.
  • Hey Luke- greeting from Texas. Started watching you and enjoying immensely. Youโ€™re good at what you do. Also, youโ€™re very generous and giving person toward people who have nothing and struggling to survive in all the 3rd world countries. That is remarkable and very noble. God bless you and Godspeed. Keep up the good work and show the people of the world your good side . Australia should be proud of you!
  • That's very nice of you. The guy was really kind and humble and was very keen on details. I think is my third video from coming across your channel. More fun content please.
  • @MarkLuis
At 10:27, when you asked the barber if he's an expert, he said "maybe". I think that's a very Filipino thing. When asked if they're good or an expert, most of us normally would downplay ourselves and not brag and just prove ourselves after we've done our work.

Hey Luke! I wish you would visit Mindanao! There are a lot of great beaches and falls and mountains here you can visit. And just like your goal in countries like Pakistan, Mindanao is vastly misunderstood by the media. Even our fellow Filipinos think that this is a place of terrorist but in reality the people who live here are just different from people that take up the lands of Luzon and Visayas. As the prominent religious groups here are Muslims. I really hope you get to visit and try the exotic fruits in Davao and hike to the Falls of Iligan City. If you want to go surfing, going to Siargao might be a good recommendation for you! Safe travels Luke!
