Mumbai airport was the world's busiest airport in India from the beginning to 2009. 2009 onwards it was Delhi, because Mumbai's single runway could never handle more traffic.
  • Well compiled and informative video of Mumbai airports..old photos are icing on the cake.❤

Another great video, Mayank! The existing airport in Mumbai is hugely overstretched and desperately requires some relief. When this Airport and the one at Jewar are completed, it will be interesting to see passenger and air cargo movement after. I just hope connectivity to and from both airports keeps up with the pace of construction.

On another note - the timestamps in the description are not added. Just the chapter names are present. Could you add them?

Chennai Airport isn't located outside the city its situated within the city, and compared to other major airports in India it is easily accessible by all kinds of transport. Plus there are plans for the construction of a second airport, which will be located outside the city limits.
  • This video is packed with so much great information ! The channel really focuses on quality and informative content.

2:45 There were 2 incidents where aircrafts landed at Juhu airport instead of CSMIA, one was a DH106 Comet which landed in 1953, it was later flown out after removing it's seats (to reduce takeoff weight) and the other was a Japan airline dc-8 which overran the runway at Juhu and into a ditch, thankfully it stopped before a very busy highway and no casualties were reported

Mumbai airports T2, now NMIA have so much better designs than desi design of Delh's T3 & Jewar. Even Blr T2 is so much better.

I was seeing the site since my Childhood with board on site for Proposed Airport(Dream Project of CIDCO). Though land filling done upto 6ft, but over the period it will settled down to the original level.
For eg: Kharghar - where the land filling done by CIDCO in 90's 6ft above the Sion - Panvel Highway. As said over the period it came to the level highway, due to rain and other construction work. So, over the time, sands get settle down.
