I have the BP-80 100watt amp and its a beauty mate. Ive had it for approx 3 - 4 months now and it does everything i need for accoustic guitar singing. Its capabilities are above and beyond my current needs so plenty of room at add extra. Even for someone wanting just a portable PA for their phone playlsists etc is great value or for mum to call the kids back home for dinner.

This was amazingly helpful. I got hired for gigs and I want to amp up my playing. Thank you!

Came for the speaker review, stayed for the Doc-Drumming! Nice Nate! 😁

An amazingly important question that neither Coolmusic nor any of the reviewers I've seen is: What do I do when the battery dies (i.e. can no longer be charged)? Older portable amps used standard sealed-lead-acid batteries (SLAs) that have been sold for decades and will probably be sold for decades to come. SLAs die after three years whether you use them or not. My old Crate Taxi amp, for example, makes replacement easy: unscrew a few screws, disconnect the standard battery connectors, take the old battery out, put the new one in, reconnect the connectors, screw the cabinet back together. My questions for Coolmusic, which are not answered in their manuals, are: 1) What specific batteries you use in your amps (exact models)? 2) Is the amp built in such a way that I can easily replace them? 3) Where I can buy replacement batteries? 4) What are the prospects for these batteries still being sold many years or even decades from now?

Yep a very helpful review. Would have liked to have heard more bass control. Can you find a Bass Boost switch on it that is mentioned in product specifications? Its obviously got enough treble. Love the versatility of the amps orientation ie : On a speaker stand, Fold back/forward speaker, Upright and behind maybe on a milk crate. Is two Eq treble and bass control knobs per channel really enough?? Sounds like its authentic clear EQ would make it a Excellent Keyboard amp.

Other top brands need dispoable batteries this one has its own rechargable. It holds up as good as anything double its price. Its got the solid metal grill, i can't getthe bluetooth function to work on mine. So i plug my media player or phone in. I only tried a few times pairing and couldn't get it so i gave up.

Any chance you know how these models hold up against the Roland Cube Street? I have an EX (50w) and am looking for something similar.
  • Can you link two of these Coolmusic Bp60d together? And use them like a pa system?
  • @neurocosm
I am trying to understand CoolMusic's naming implementation. I like the BP80, which seems to be a 100watt model. But I am curious to know other than that, what are the fundamental differences. This was a great video and making me think about my purchase of the aforementioned alternative.
  • I see people use mostly acoustic guitars with this. Do you think it's possible to hookup effects pedals and electric guitar to this? I know I can use the usual electric guitar amp. I'm just curious if this can handle that as well. Good video and info. 😁👍

Thanks for the review. Since you also reviewed BP40, which one do you recommend for practice at (very) low volume, BP40, BP60 or the mini? Do they sound similar at low volumes?
  • Can you explain the phone record feature with some detail. Thank you.
  • @n2real
Hey Doctor, I have the same amp and I recently damaged my record out plug and was wondering if it's poissible to replace that piece of the system. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!
  • How long does the battery last if you’re playing at about a 6 on volume ? The fender go amp last 4-5 at max volume (that they advertise).
  • @eazyrider6122
The powered speaker cabs are advertised as 15 ply construction, That is a complete lie. They are made of partical board and MDF which is cardboard type material.
